me too, Mr. Children slowly climbed up to my #1 favorite in the 90s-2000s
A remarkable band in Japan pop history. My another favorite is Southern All Stars but they stopped formal group activities in 2008.

Kuwata from Southern All Stars is a great on-stage entertainer, singer and song writer. He wrote many famous songs, some were exported to Asian countries and localized into other languages.

Bump of Chicken's Fujiwara is another interesting song writer. He has made many interesting tracks including some comedic hidden tracks in their CD singles.

Nice! The band is very stylish in performance. I found it hard to classify them, somewhere in rock + jazz and frequent use of big band + chorus.

I only know a few from your list.

I did not mention Spitz in the prev. post, they have many good songs too.
Their image is best described by manga Detroit Metal City. A band with soft rock & love songs with a lot of female fans.
