Anime just isn't a medium I find scary, lots of anime tagged/labelled as horror I find are a complete joke.

You could try Yami Shibai since it actually tries in my opinion.

^ This. I've never found anime to be scary before, not even a little jump
Most of the horror is just gore and blood

I'd second Yami Shibai, certain episodes can leave a chilling impact

Anime isn't scary

The Chaos;Head visual novel creeped me out quite a lot though, felt a bit uncomfortable walking around the house without turning on the lights when I was playing that

You people who say anime can't be scary have obviously not seen Utsu Musume Sayuri. It is a 3 min short that strikes fear into the hearts of all who dare to watch it.

You can't go wrong with these titles.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: When you start this anime it may seem like a simple slice of life comedy but in reality, there's much more to it than that. The story is meant to be nearly impossible to understand on your first run through the first season. It isn't until the second season where everything will begin to make sense. Just don't expect the second season to be as scary as the first.

Another: A good mystery horror anime with plenty of gruesome deaths. Similar to Shiki in terms of story (person moves to small town and deaths begin to occur for unknown reasons) just not as scary in my opinion but still quite good. The creepy soundtrack really adds to the atmosphere.

Elfen Lied: While not scary for the most part, it can get really gory and there are some truly traumatizing scenes in this anime.

Shinsekai yori: While most of the time not scary, it is extremely dark and there are some really terrifying scenes. One of the only anime I've rated a perfect 10.

Denpa Teki na Kanojo: A short anime that revolves around a delinquent high school boy and a strange girl who just won't leave him alone. There are some really psychotic girls in this anime if that's what you're into. It's also capable of being finished in under two hours.

Shiki Specials: Almost as scary as the series itself. If you have an hour to kill and it's late at night, definitely watch these. They are really scary.

Jesus Christ the cover for that anime is fucking creepy.

EDIT: Had no idea you watched Shiki and Ghost Hunt. Removed them just to keep this post compact.

Added Shiki Specials, Another, and Elfen Lied.
