What's your favorite Mushishi episode?

I just started this Anime recently and watched seven episodes of it. I love the atmosphere. I usually don't like episodic Anime, especially if they only have one main character, but I'm really enjoying this.

My favorite episode would be 2 or 7 so far.

Episode 12 was good. My personal favorite is 20, and I won't elaborate much so to spoil but the central character apart from Ginko in that episode had such a profound effect on me and remains one of my favorite ever to this day.

Jizzy as you would call yourself because youre a dick The most butthurt award goes to you And clearly you havent watched that many shows thats why you cant determine if a show is unique or not Or maybe you're just a child who likes common stuffs where hero saves the day and guys gets all the girls. Sad taste you have there kid you came up to me in the first place making you look more like a kid who got slapped without me even knowing it and start crying about it to me

I think it might actually be episode 1. In retrospect, I don't think episode 1 was actually one of the better stories, but the impact episode 1 had on me was so much more profound than most of the episodes due to how fresh Mushishi seemed. It felt like a visual meditation, and it was a feeling that I slowly lost as I continued the series and progressively adapted to its atmosphere. Plus, the final line of the episode was truly beautiful, especially as it fades into the even more beautiful outro music.

"From that day on, the rumors of the boy with the god-like left hand were heard less and less... until finally they simply faded away."

Aside from that, I'd guess episodes 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 14. Episodes 11 and 20 were also particularly noteworthy. Mushishi episodes are essentially made by how well the characters resonate with you, and these are all episodes where I felt for the characters the most.

12, 17, 20 and 21 are my favourites, but every episode is great either way. Never seen an episodic anime as consistently excellent as Mushishi.

From the first season - every episode from 21.

Hihamukage is probably my top favorite Mushishi story, at least one that was most memorable.

There are tons of great episodes in Zoku Shou, best ones being 9th and 10th episode of Zoku Shou 2nd season.

But overall it's 10/10 and every episode is amazing.

Ahhh I'm reviving such an old thread, but I can't help it. Every episode has so many gems hidden within. I love analyzing the scenes and relating it to the real world.

Ep 3, Tender Horns
"It's quiet, but sound is not absent. If you listen, even the snow flake makes a sound while falling. If no sound is outside, you can hear your own heart beating. But when you hear all the cacophony around you, your ears no longer pick up any individual sound, and you are left with a deafening silence." - Ginko

Ep 4, The Pillow Pathway
The whole premise of dreams coming to reality just spooked me out. And I love it. Gave me mini inception vibes, and the tragic ending was somehow fitting.

Ep 6, Those Who Inhale the Dew
My favorite in the ENTIRE series. The whole allusion to escapism and taking the easy way out really hit the bull's eye for me. I feel most people do this to a degree, and they honestly can't be blamed. We are all just trying to live out life. Who is to judge how one should spend that time?

Ep 7, Raindrops and Rainbows
DOUBLE RAINBOW ACROSS THE SKY ~

Ep 9, The Heavy Seed
The whole philosophical discussion between the priest and Ginko really intrigued me. I don't think Ginko should have given the priest immortality, but this entire episode was super interesting to watch.

Ep 14, Inside the Cage
WHO DOESN'T LOVE SCREAMING BAMBOO BABIES FROM WHITE BAMBOO BUG?
On a serious note, this episode's theme on love and acceptance was really cool. I also liked the rebirth aspect at the end.

Ep 15, Pretense of Spring
Another favorite. And here we see first glimpse of Ginko as a natural lady's man.

Ep 16, Sunrise Serpent
A mix of tragic and happy. Mushi is seen in its duality--it cannot be called good or bad. A curse of amnesia brought the mother comfort and even happiness. What an interesting story that is.

Ep 19, String from the Sky
Ep 21, Cotton Changeling
Ep 22, Shrine in the Sea
Ep 25, Eye of Fortune, Eye of Misfortune

THE LIST GOES ON.

Episode 1 - sets the scene for the whole show very effectively, and this is the main reason why I decided to continue watching it:

Episode 4 - I really liked the pillow mushi concept - and there being a relation to dreams and the soul.

Episode 14 - this was just a massive emotional crit for me. Very well written in every regard.
