| Well most hentai have almost no story and the few that do tend to have bad stories or just ones that just get in the way of the sex. Hatsu Inu is about the only hentai I've seen where I think the story and characters can actually hold up against legitimately pretty good anime. The characters in Swing Out Sisters can too but the story isn't as good. Also the animation quality usually sucks in hentai since they're so low budget. |

If people are expecting a good story in a hentai then they're stupid. We ALL know why we look at hentai, and why we find it cool. It's defiantly not for the story. Although some hentai actually interesting stories like Bible Black though. Anyhow, people should rate hentai on the sex, animation, and overall enjoyment. Not story or anything complicated. It's animated porn, not a shakesphere play. |

The MAL community needs to know not to score hentai the same as anime. Plot isn't as important in hentai as it is in anime. You should be scoring it based on the h scenes, animation, sound, and character which are all important to satisfy you for fapping which is what hentai is for. Swing out sister should be given like a 9 or 10 because it has like high quality content. You shouldn't be watching hentai if you are expecting good plot. |

| The only way for a hentai to get a 8+ score on MAL is to be an Oni-Chichi sequel. There was some effort to artificially boost that score, though. Basically, as already said, there are tons of people rating hentai as they would do anime. |

How would they be able to get a 9 or 10? Having a plot as good as code geass or something? |
| 9+ is impossible for hentai. Just look at how few anime actually hit 9+. Even if you had a really good story, you would get people complaining that the hentai scenes were not necessary, or that there was too much story and not enough sex for a hentai. There's no perfect balance. |

Yeah, few people seem to be able to rate a genre in terms of what kind of entertainment it is intended to provide. I suppose its also possible that people are conscious of scoring H anime highly and having that reflect negatively on their ratings for other genres but why even add something to your list if you're worried about what people will think? I only watch H anime and make it clear in my profile that my ratings are purely based on the quality of sexual content in terms of animation, character design, and even the plot. While a good plot can make a series even better by setting the mood/fantasy or making characters more appealing, all that matters in the end is the overall fap value. |

| Well I haven't put hentai on my list. Probably a lot of people don't do it. Also, people expect too much of hentai I guess. Just like FlamingMangos said you should't expect a really good plot and also H-scenes. I mean like 80-90% is sex so why would you watch it for the plot. But there are really good ones. And also people have a lot of different tastes about hentai. And specially if it's about lolis most people don't want everyone want to know the're into that. (my guess, dunno why cause I love Oni chichi) Well I guess I'll start by adding every thing to my list and rating it also. |

| I'll take Highschool DxD for example. If you take it exactly how it is, and just substitute actually sex scenes where the characters almost have sex, but get interrupted. Then just add some a few other jokes based on that. You would have a hentai masterpiece. |

So they think "Why not make an anime masterpiece instead of hentai and boost our profits!" That's why hentai mostly have a boring plot whose anime counterparts would totally suck if made. |
| I generally don't rate hentai on my list I guess cause I'm self conscious about it. I like some sick shit. xD I guess I should get over that, though. There are a couple of hentai that I did rate, however, and it was the ones that I hated. I feel no shame in rating Pico x Chico x Coco a 1. But do feel shame in giving other sick hentais higher scores. Ultimately, everything comes down to personal preference when it comes to hentai. I don't like shota x shota hentai, so of course I'm gonna give it a low score. But those that like it would give it a higher one. But because those that like it might feel ashamed to rate it, most of the ratings are by people who disliked it. That's what I think, at least. |
