Torrent users who say that they torrent because of lack of accessibility

It's understandable to torrent something if you already owned it before or your region blocks you from it. Then what about the people who torrent when their entertainment is accessible? Not just anime but games, movies, and porn.

Edit: I guess I didn't get my main point out. But here it is.
Are you willing to support an entertainment industry if means of obtaining it is just as easy as it is to obtain illegally? And for me yes, I would quit torrenting cold turkey if anime/games/movies were sold as conveniently as it is to torrent them. And this isn't a thread calling people out for torrenting, I torrent too

I would by my anime if I could buy it online the day it comes out.

I don't torrent anything else, because it has accessibility.

Plus porn is free. ( ͡͡ ° ͜ ʖ ͡ °)

That's pretty obvious but what is your stance on it?

I have perfect accessibility for anime and I still torrent anyway.
I don't know why this question even exists.

But for anime specifically, I torrent because there's no better alternative.
I want to get to my computer and have everything downloaded to my watch folder without I having to click a thing, to be able to watch anime in the best quality which is something streaming websites such as CrunchyRoll will never be able to provide.
So the answer: automation, convinience and quality.

Personally, I torrent / stream everything because it's more convenient for me and I don't have enough money to get all of the books / anime / music / movies etc. that I want even if it were all available. If I only bought everything I enjoyed for entertainment, I would have to seriously limit the amount of things. Not to mention albums leak out early on torrents all the time and who likes to wait?

I torrent because the Japanese don't deserve my money.

I make sure to buy everything else though.
☕ Truth be told, I'm quite proud of my house blend. To attain my flavor and fragrance, I use five different types of coffee beans. ☕

So if there was a client that lists all your anime, downloads all your anime in any preferred quality, without the inconvenience of seeding and leeching, would you invest into it?

Yes, if the price is reasonable. I don't see how seeding and leeching is an inconvenience though.
My upload speed is pretty bad so I set that when my torrents finish downloading they just get removed without seeding.

Some sites require seeding to download more content, others consider seeding as good etiquette. Leeching is an inconvenience if the torrents have little to no seeders. And concerning price, what would you consider reasonable regarding speed/quality/availability?

I don't know any sites that do that, but nyaa is enough for me. Is it baka.bt? I hear a lot of people saying it is very easy to bypass its seeding limit (just log out before downloading).
About the price I really have no idea, around CrunchyRoll's fee feels reasonable, if it is too expensive people will be encouraged to torrent instead, if it is too cheap it will be hard to maintain.

I don't buy anime for a few reasons.

1. I'm broke
2. It's expensive seriously it's over 60$ for 12 episodes of Watamote

Buying anime is for losers.

That aside, I do buy the comic books and manga that are avaliable in my country because

1) I like to read my stuff phisically
2) I want to support the mexican market
3) I have enough money for it

I torrent because I can.

In comparison to buying shit:
1. It is quicker and more convenient to obtain by torrent. (even automatic - in my case)
2. It occupies no physical space.
3. It costs no money (aside from bandwidth costs)
4. And most importantly: It's DRM-free.

In comparison to DDL or XDCC:
1. RSS Auto-downloads make it quicker and more convenient to obtain by torrent.
2. It's more reliable: it can sustain dropped connections and pieces are checked to avoid corruption.
3. Batches: A single link to download an entire series.
4. P2P sharing helps take the load off the providers' servers so everyone can get it faster without costing the fansubbers more money.

I should.
I just typed that up now, but I could've probably found the last one with google and posted that.
This is probably the most accurate and concise version yet, so I may very well reuse it at some point.

I didn't even know there was such a thing as RSS auto-downloads 'till one of your previous versions got posted.

Then would you support a method that allowed you to rent an anime digitally at an adjusted price that seems reasonable? Or are you poor and can't afford digital purchases and resort to torrenting?

The only thing I torrent is anime. And there is nothing that anyone could say that would make me stop torrenting anime. Maybe if I could buy anime locally I would. I think I would buy some anime locally but not all of it. This is because I read some manga I buy at the store and a few I just read online. So anime would probably be the same.

If I could get a Blu-Ray disk for an entire series of anime (I'm talking 24 episodes-ish), for less than $50, I'd buy it if I really liked it, less than $30 if it was memorable, and less than $20 if it was decent. I'm not even presenting that I'd want it multi-audio and subtitled.

But I can't do that.

I don't know how they put up with it in Japan. All the Otakus over there have allowance money or something.

Anime is expensive. Video games are cheap.

Buying things when you can get them free is just stupid. Only justifiable reason to buy is because you want the bonus stuff that comes along with w/e you're buying or you like collecting stuff.

One, I'm poor. Two, I don't want to wait for a DVD release or whatever it is, I watch it on the day it airs. Three, if I order it, my family will find out.

Torrenting solves all of these problems. Seriously, it really is the best thing ever.
