| It's funny because I actually got a pdf from one of my college classes the other day about Facebook security that was trying to say that you should use cartoons as your profile picture for security purposes, and that it was dangerous to use an actual picture of yourself. I thought it was pretty stupid. |

I've met most of the people I add on Facebook, so before I've even seen their profile picture, I know what they're like. If I've never met someone before and they have a picture of something I like but no one else seems to, I might judge them as someone I might get along with. Does a profile picture alter your perception of an individual? -Usually not, but if someone has something like a racist organization's symbol as their profile picture, I might get out of there. Doesn't bother me at all, some people are uncomfortable posting their picture on the internet and it's a perfectly acceptable substitution. My boyfriend also does this so I can't judge.
