| I just finished Life of Pie and I noticed how the short chapters in that book made it a lot easier to read and much more enjoyable. After finishing a chapter you feel rewarded and that sense of accomplishment comes often with a book that has 100 chapters over 300 pages. It helps to read more at once also because you can just read to finish the chapter and then go onto the next chapter and keep on going. I find that this format makes books much more enjoyable and it should be done more often. Opinions? Also add why you prefer short or longer chapters in books. |

| Long chapters with well expressed paragraphs are the only way to go. James Patterson style short chapters are abominable and offer little sense of good pacing. |

| Actually I often find short chapters obstructing. But as long as the paragraphs are not ridiculously long, it's all good. |
