THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- I don't get it, he seems like a good person here. I wonder if this is even a real Hoeinheim. This episode was pretty useless tho, just a bunch of flashbacks, isn't good for a person who is trying to binge watch if XD |
| another new intro (seemed to introduce some new characters?) and outro (winry focused) a flashback-heavy episode, slowed the pace down a lot. i don't like hohenheim but part of that is down to the fact that i don't understand him at all i'm still curious about the homunculi mentioning candidates for human sacrifice.. at first i thought they wanted people who had seen the Gate (ed, al, izumi) but roy and dr marcoh are also candidates, so what does it all mean i wonder? |
| Did they really need to have Hohenheim thank the bottle at the end? That makes him come across like some sort of addict, which I don't think really plays into how his character is developed, or implies that alcohol is a healthy coping mechanism, which it is not. I'm not saying it wouldn't be unreasonable considering his past, but it isn't what they did. |

| This was an OK recap, of course its the type of episode that doesn't seem to go with shows high standarts. Some things couldve just been done so much better but it failed to avoid obvious mistakes. |
| It's a recap episode but I atleast did like seeing Hohenheim interact with a younger looking Pinako, even if it was a dream (which actually makes enough since given how if it wasn't a dream, the timelines would be messed up + he did leave for a long time from where he used to live). Hell, the drunken ephipany even had him speaking to himself with clear emotional conflicts. Good ending too. Man Pinako looked damn good when she was younger though. It's by no means what I'd call a good episode, and it's by no means among the best recap episodes (which all belong to Gintama), but this wasn't actually too bad. Also, new opening and ending this time too. The second OP and ED songs were fantastic and these ones were a step down definitely but still solid to listen to. I do like my Sukima Switch so I'll still enjoy Golden Time Lover regardless. |
| I don't know what they tried to do with this pseudo recap. Hohenheim with that bottle in the end was hilarious lol but kinda ruined the seriousness of "being human". |

| Hate the recap, but that's why the right arrow on a keyboard exists. Opening is decent, the ending song was pretty good. Doesn't matter though cause I'm skipping all of them. |

| Yeah I can't really defend this episode it was essentially a recap episode. I'm honestly not a huge fan of the new opening and ending but at the same time they aren't terrible either they are just OK to me. I personally prefer the new ending more than the opening but that's not really saying much cuz I prefer the old opening and ending before them. The stuff involving Hohenheim was interesting and was neat to see a younger Pinako who's surprisingly hot here. The reason why there's scenes from previous episodes is because it's all a dream which makes sense why it's all jumbled up and the like. But as I've said for another recap episode from another show here on this forum, if I wanted to see the scenes from the old episodes in this recap episode, I'd go watch the episodes that the scenes are from. Pretty boring episode and honestly not a lot to say other than that. It's probably the weakest episode of Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood so far. Which is sad cuz so far it's a really solid show and we just came off Al literally being led into the basement with Gluttony and we had ALOT happen in that previous episode, so bit of a shame there but what can do you really? , |
| Uh... what... Hohenheim has been alive since Winry's grandmother was young until she became an old granny? And his physique hasn't changed... hasn't aged? Is he a Homunculus or something? Or is his other self a Homunculus? A clone? His creation? Hallucination? (I think I'm the one hallucinating here) Next episode about "Father"... I just remembered that Ed never told Al that he met their father when he went back to Resembool... Anyway Winry in ED's background <3 |
