Thats just how it works.DRRR!'s fanbase has alot of fujoshi who regularly support the franchise till today as well as fanboys.Baccano didnt even sell well at start (a real shame because i love it even more than DRRR! as well). If you want to blame anything, blame money.

Alright, this is something that I agree with, but to everyone who is saying this:

1. Baccano was not financially successful
2. this is Durarara, although they're similar, this is still another series!
3. SHUT THE FUCK UP AND ENJOY IT!!! They both better than 90-98% of what we have these days.

Actually, Durarara belongs to that 90%.

in what sense? Because it's production quality and story telling method is is definitely unique.

Yeah, Highschool kids a re unique. :V

You either didn't watch the show or you are being a fucking twat. Yeah, the high school kids are a large part of it, but the cast is far beyond them, as well as the multiple perspective style of story telling, the animation techniques, etc, are FAR more fun to watch than the vast majority of shows out there.

Yeah, that's the problem.

They have a substantial cast, but the main three are so dull.

Fine. It was boring for a part of the story, but it's style and just having those strong characters present in my opinion, warrants the story a special position.

The vast majority of people seems to have enjoyed it basing on the sheer amount of celebration on this thread and reviews.

A lot of unexpected second/ third seasons are coming this year, super excited to hear this news!

Durarara!! had an interesting end to season 1, if season 2 follows the novel I expect to see large twists in personalities and plot.

I agree that he characters were interesting. They were great, actually. And the first half was good as well. But the second half was executed so pooly, it ruined my opinion of the show. That being said, I'm still looking forward to this, if they manage to make it good. Just...no more stupid kid gang fights and Russian sushi. I can't stand that

From what I've heard, the later portions of the LNs focus more on Shizuo and co., more than the teenagers so that's a plus.

you h8 blak people.

LOL.

I mean... That was a part of the story, blonde hair and his shinji mom girlfriend were certainly nothing to be interested, but again, I think you're seeing the dusts on a otherwise clean thing.

Yeah, i definitely enjoyed the second half of Drrr much less than the first. There's almost no Celty or Shinra screentime and the plots they do have drag on for far too long. And the ending feels like it's in a down and slow moment in the novels. The first half of the series was perfect, the screen time among the large cast of characters were almost equal. You don't feel like one character is taking too much of the series. That why I was so disappointed with the second half mainly focusing on only three characters. It not because I don't like them causes I do but for a series like this I expect to see a bit more. It makes me think why did they even bother to add the new characters in the second opening when they are almost never there in the show. Thankfully we've got a continuation because the second cour felt more like a middle part of a story than an entire second half.

Exactly. Baccano damn well needs to come back. Granted it didn't do well, but they can piggyback it off Durarara's success and advertise it as a prequel of sorts.
