Hachiken's slow build up of rage and his outbursts perfectly defined his character. From his perspective, everyone has a dream but him(his last conversation with Aikawa was very important) and he can't stand it when someone faces the harsh reality of their dream because he's scared of eventually having to do that himself. It may come off as naivety and selfishness, and that's probably part of it because he wants to think there's more to pursuing a dream than just that. But I think it's also a lot to do with his heart breaking for his friends so easily. His dream may just be to help people realize their dreams. Guidance Counselor Hachiken anyone?

I'd say he's also pissed because the people involved aren't practicing what they preach. The advice that they've given him is great, but it must be infuriating to see those same people not following it themselves.

I agree with all of this. It's not really whether Hachiken can do something for Komaba, but just the fact that he /wants/ to. Hachiken didn't grow up in the agricultural world, so he's experiencing all of these things for the first time. The other kids are used to this, which is why everyone is telling him "these things happen" and not to stress over it.

But, if anything, Hachiken is so passionate when it comes to his friends. He sees them trying to carry all of this weight by themselves, and he gets upset when they shut him out. Even if the problems don't relate to him, he wants to be involved, he wants to help his friends.

This episode was great. I really loved it!

Why? Why there's onions everywhere?? T_T

I can't imagine how Hachiken will solve the problem
Maybe with algebra? xD

Nice shot of the scene, so at point blank range to make the episode "majestic" storyline that puts the turbo.
Narration as beautiful as ever, now I understand and I doubt the significance of the Silver Spoon! ^ _ ^
Drawing decent and good animations.
Beautiful the first part with the professor and what can be more attractive an agricultural college. Second part always nice for the gags and drama consumed so intensely.
Now the climax is almost achieved, I hope are able to play for the cards well with the next episode.

But they were right he has no right to meddle in. What does he think he can do?
Some fundraiser or something?

Reality sucks. This is so amazingly well-written. I wonder what Hachiken will do to help the Komaba family. We're talking millions of yen in debt here.

Life is sometimes bigger than what ca you handle. Really sad episode.
I have a feeling that this case will help Hatchken to decide his future dream, he is ment to use his brain and hard work to help people rather than taking care of animals. He might not be able to help Kumaba but I really hope he finds a mini solution at least.

The second cour have been worse so far.

I've really come to dislike the protagonist, he such a drama bitch. I like his VA usually but his performance here makes me cringe, though some of it due to the character.

Komba is the one having the biggest problems of his life, yet that bitch is making the whole thing about him. He is so meddlesome. Their bonds is really not that strong but he is acting like they sore a blood oath or something. They are just nice people not your eternal friends.

Ugh don't feel like finishing the anime, his shitty character left a bad taste on my mouth.

When Hachiken entered the cheese processing room he was surprised by how warm the room was and Nakajima-sensei said it was maintained at 30c.... dude try going here in my country where the hottest temperature recorded today was a staggering 52c! How's that for warm? Summer here sucks. The tropics sucks. :/

Dang Komaba's ranch closed because of bankruptcy and he dropped out of school to work. That's some deep reality shit right there. Anyway, I understand how Hachiken feels but when he basically asked Mikage to unleash all of her frustrations on him, asked her to involve him in their problems, kick him or whatever. That's some cringe-worthy shit right there.

I just knew Nakajima-sensei's absence was cheese related. LOL

Also Komaba!!TωT Ugh, I was so sure he wouldn't really leave too... actually, I'm still hoping he'd come back somehow. He's one of my fave characters. </3

I never expected this light slice of life series in the beginning would turn to be a great dramatic series like this ...
Hiromu Arakawa is really a great author, I learned many things from her mangas ...

Im so glad Hachiken didn't use Talk no Jutsu like many other protagonists do. As if talking is persuasive enough for Komaba to come back to school. I cant wait to see how Hachiken will solve this issue in a realistic manner (and i know he'll solve it despite this not being his business since he's the mc)

Fast transformation into highschool drama. Not cool.

Bat dude is a man, loser, stop pestering him with your endless nagging.
He'll already become rich and have a family when you graduate from college and become a neet.
