| ^ That's true too, but it seems reserved for series with "obvious" demographics. For example, Pretty Cure and Aikatsu air during the day and are targeted at young girls. They appeal greatly to some adult male otaku, but there isn't a doubt that its primary dem is kids. Late night anime is more difficult to gauge, as it technically borrows from all dems but is hoping for the older teen/adult's cash. Makura no Danshi falls into this category and, compounding the issue, has love interests ranging from high schoolers to working adults (plus that 5 year old I guess...). That's why I'd hesitate to call it either unless the production company says "we're aiming it at females from xx age to xx age". |

| Hello! I have an petition for this anime http://myanimelist.net/anime.php?id=12487 and its sequel. I have watched the first season and I already started watching the second one and I have seen in the ´´Information`` section that it it doesnt show every genre of it. It is only rated as Action and Fantasy, but its has a very dense script and I think it shoould be rated as Military, Mecha, Comedy, Sci-Fi, Shounen, Super Power and Supernatural too. In the very end it should be rated at least as Military as it clearly has politics, conflicts between States and a vast cast of characters in it. It is also epic, but I dont know if this last detail counts in something ... In all, it has every characteristcs of the genres represented above actually. |

| Something needs to be worked out with the new Fist of the North Star comedies. MAL currently has an article for Hokuto no Ken: Ichigo Aji (http://myanimelist.net/anime/31018) and DD Hokuto no Ken 2 Ichigo Aji+ (http://myanimelist.net/anime/31474/) But DD Hokuto no Ken 2 Ichigo Aji+ encompasses both Ichigo Aji and DD Hokuto no Ken; it's a double feature program. I'm not sure if this means episodes will contain content from both or if the two will be separate series in a block, but we should know soon enough. Also, Hokuto no Ken: Ichigo Aji should have "Fist of the North Star: Strawberry Flavored" as an alt title. |

| The English title has no influence in it, at all, or at least shouldn't have. And this has been argued time and time again, unless the mods randomly feel it (I know, I know...) MAL is going to romanize titles their way, you can argue they are wrong but officials titles shouldn't have influence over the title on MAL, keyword being shouldn't, they do sometimes, if the mods aren't stubborn and also feel like it. |

| That's an exception (there are many others, I know), not the rule (there's no rule either though). I actually didn't realize the image you posted was from the official site, those usually go in the English title field, by the way, and I still find mixing elements of the English title with ones from the Japanese kinda silly of an idea (thinking about it, the fact that the "-" is there only implies further that it is indeed one word but since there's no single word in English for that they used the "-" to connect the words), and it's still the same idea as the official romanization, MAL isn't going to use the English title just because it's on the official website now. |

You should either rewrite or re-read the genre definition given by MAL because this stuff isn't making sense or maybe you could explain your decisions. Same also goes for the guidelines: Kineta said: The first release of an anime is the most important one, as long as the majority of it was released that way. For example, if only the first episode was pre-aired online and the rest is released on TV, that would make the entry a TV series and not an ONA. And that's the case here, it also doesn't say anything about "method of release". The Monster Musume ONA specials are similar as they're released on YouTube for a single day but those aren't listed as Special. Also I mentioned the Overlord side story episodes in comment #8844 which should be listed as TV series according to the guidelines. |

| These genre definitions were written over ten years ago. They need to be updated, and maybe a flexible genre tagging system introduced.
