Watching:
Log Horizon - It was actually pretty good. I've never seen SAO, so I don't know if it's any similar.
Completed:
InuYasha - It's been on my on-hold for a really long time. It's been dragging and dragging, over and over again, and apparently I have to sit through a 100 more episodes of this. Maybe someday I'll put myself through the torture of finishing it.
On-hold:
Kino no Tabi - Probably because it starts getting dull and repetitive midway, but I still kinda enjoyed it.
Plan to Watch:
Hajime no Ippo: Rising - You know what to do ~
Completed:
Deadman Wonderland: Watching tomorrow alongside Death Note.
Dragon Ball Z: I'll get around to continuing it.
Naruto: Watched some episodes in my childhood, but I can at least remember some of these episodes, unlike my other childhood anime.
Attack on Titan: This is the SHIT!
Gurren Lagann: When I get around to watching it, I swear, this will also be the SHIT!
Toradora!: A very good romcom. Interesting plots, good romance, and never found Taiga nearly as annoying as people make her out to be.
Dropped:
Naruto Shippuden: You have chosen wisely. WAIT FOR THE SERIES TO END!
Plan to watch:
Gundam Unicorn: Just make sure you watch 0079, Zeta, Double Zeta, Char's Counterattack, and F91 before you watch it.
One Piece: This has no end in sight, so why bother?
>Watch the second half....
>Not even finished one Gundam series
I completed the show..yeah the last 5-6 episodes were not *that* bad but still the show was freaking horrible. The characters were shit, about 80% of the anime was horrible and it's not even kanon.
So you're pleased with the Zeta Gundam movies retconning Double Zeta, then?
Anyway:
Watching:
Detective Conan: Honestly, I don't think I'd even have the time to catch up to any of the episodes.
... I can't go on any longer! I apologize!
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to teach some buggers a lesson.
Completed:
Air - Snape kills Misuzu!
Clannad - Sorry, I prefer My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and its excellent storytelling and messages. BTW, I never really wanted to see a depressing drama.
Kanon - Quit really quickly
Gurren Lagann - one of the best anime ever!
Dropped:
Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt - Twilight Sparkle and Applejack in an alternate universe
man your list is a mess, too many 10's and 1's yet way too little 2-7's, to make matters worse it spoils shit for no reason.
Immahnoob said: Jizzy, I know you have no idea how to argue for shit,
tokiyashiro said:
Jizzy as you would call yourself because youre a dick The most butthurt award goes to you And clearly you havent watched that many shows thats why you cant determine if a show is unique or not Or maybe you're just a child who likes common stuffs where hero saves the day and guys gets all the girls. Sad taste you have there kid you came up to me in the first place making you look more like a kid who got slapped without me even knowing it and start crying about it to me
Btooom: Dat scene from ep.11
Clannad series: These op looks awesome.
Cowboy Bebop: I saw the movie at HBO.
Death Note: Yagami Light you are the best singer ever!
Dragon Ball GT: so finally this series is over.
Great Teacher Onizuka: I prefer the manga.
Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica: "Planned to Watch"
Mirai Nikki: Yandere trance FTW!
Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu (2009): The "ending" of endless eight is awesome.
Yuru Yuri: \ Akarin~ /
Monster: After I finish the manga...
Our compatability is 70.5% which is higher than I'm used to seeing.
Watching
Seems you watch anime in the same way I used to do / still do. That is waiting and marathoning, obsessing over one thing at a time. I've started to watch stuff weekly more often due to regular life cutting into my anime watching but I still prefer to watch things all at once. All your currently watching stuff falls under the category 'shonen' so I'm sortof excited to look at your completed list.
Dragon Ball Z Stop!! - No seriously you're doing it wrong. Here's the quick guide:
1. Watch Dragon Ball (the original series) its great and is the prequel to DBZ.
2. Decide wether you want to watch DBZ which is very long winded but fine or Dragon Ball Kai which is the remake, there's nothing wrong with the remake the people that like DBZ more are normally the ones that had seen DBZ before and didn't see the point in remaking it. The last arc wasn't remade so you'll have to watch DBZ either way but I recommend watching Kai first just to save time since there isn't any real difference.
3. Never Ever Ever Ever watch GT or any of the other shit related to dragon ball. The original series is great (don't be fooled by the very first arc - the story starts with a tiny little kid that doesn't know what a girl is and ends with the strongest guy on earth. It's THE shonen) but the author wanted to end the story from that point onward and you'll probably notice this when you watch Z, every arc seems like the end but he manages to bring some new enemy untill they are so ridiculously strong that there is no way to comprehend it and then they get turned into kids or whatever and GT starts.
Hunter x Hunter - You won't have to wait much more they've been lining up the final fights in the last few episodes.
Shippuden - Yup, you might be too far in at this point to stop though since the last few eps have been ok. But whatever, I'd recommend people that haven't started Naruto to skip it but once you've started you can obviously make up your own mind.
One Piece - The manga is so much better. Also I don't know where exactly you stopped watching but fishman island is the worst arc. However, it ends by revealing one ancient weapon and giving some insight into the world then after that they go into the new world and that shit is exciting stuff (where the manga is right now is some of the best stuff since the war).
Completed
Your scores are actually lower than mine (according to mal.oko) which is unusual. You're mean is almost 2 points lower than the global average which is cray.
Shinsekai Yori - Oh god yes. I'm always happy to find people who really appreciate this.
Tengen Toppa - I understand why people like it I've just never been impressed with things getting 'bigger'. I dunno this was a little to dumb imo, when
Kamina died
I was surprised and thought it was gutsy but I never felt the show recovered. Mainly because I dislike Simon, whatever it was an ok show.
There's a lot of high rated stuff on your list that I've been planning to watch for a VERY long time, basically since I started watching anime. For example: FLCL, Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom, Higurashi (started it but had stuff to do and I want to start over and marathon when I find the time), Mahou Shojou Madoka Magica (started it but I didn't get sucked in), Hellsing, Darker than Black etc.
Steins;Gate - This is a very unusual rating for this show. I personally loved it however I never see anyone rate it with a mediocre-ish rating. Its like SAO, people love it or hate it but no one rates it normally.
On-hold
Very basic reasons for putting stuff on hold, make sure to finish ef:tale of memories you need to finish the first 4 episodes to get sucked in.
Dropped Host Club - I agree with your tag. I just thought I was being judgmental because of the reverse harem setting but the show is just pretty bad I really liked the protagonist girl though (she would probably agree with me that the show was bad).
Samurai Champloo - The same kind of show as Mushishi, Kino no Tabi and to a lesser extent Cowboy Bebop. Some enjoyable travel with side stories and speculations. Personally I love this sort of stuff and I recommend finishing it as well as watching Mushishi and Kino no Tabi.
Kaiji - Again we agree. I don't like the art style etc. but I thought the show was ok, the best gamble is the first one imo.
Plan To Watch
OK I have lots of stuff I want to recommend but first I'll highlight some of the shows you already plan on watching.
Mushishi - Must. Watch. This. However! You like to marathon and watch lots of stuff at a time. Mushishi is not that kind of show imo. It is very calm and easy going, I always watched it when I got home drunk and then I'd rewatch the episode the day after when I woke up growling with headaches. This is one of my favorite things to rewatch random episodes from when I'm bored or sick or whatever.
Hyouka - This is such an awesome show. The mysteries are all solveable, that is you, the viewer can solve it before the solution is explained. Also a really relaxed show but enjoyable. Some of the mysteries are genius (for example the bottle episode where they spend the whole episode in a room deciphering an announcement).
Ookami to Koushinryou - The dialogue in this show is awesome. You like the monogatari series so you'll also love this me thinks. It's way different but you need to have tolerence to reading fast speech in order to understand its awesomeness.
Stuff you need to add to your PTW:
Kino no Tabi, I wouldn't really read to much about it ... just watch it, only 12 episodes and it's just a journey to different countries that all have some interesting defining feature.
Bakuman, I didn't look at your manga list but you have one so I think you'd enjoy this just because it's about the world of mangaka and after seeing it I sortoff appreciate manga more.
Kami Nomi, You will love this shit. Don't be fooled by the setting the show is actually good. Especially the new season was awesome.
Kingdom, OK the animation is so freaking terrible but the story is actually good and if you persist through the first season then the second season is animated properly and if the story is as good (I have only seen the first two episodes of the second season I'm waiting to marathon it) then this is a must see.
Lupin the Third: Mine onna Fujika, I haven't seen any LupinIII but this is a standalone series and it's pretty good.
Mawaru Penguindrum, This is a little bit different of a recommendation than the rest since I don't know if you should watch it but for what its worth the ending is almost worth the suffering that is watching it. Or maybe it is worth it - I dunno but if you ever become interested in it then try to use that interest to your advantage while you try to persevere through it.
Natsume Yuujinchou, Less serious Mushishi and also less good but still a fine series.
Welcome to the NHK, Surrealistic and not for everyone but very good.
OK there is some more stuff which you might like but you can just check my ratings if you want my opinion.
Completed:
Death Note: A thrilling anime so far, but I can't give a final opinion on it until I finish it.
Evangelion: Going to get back on it tomorrow.
Attack on Titan: This is the SHIT! Well, okay, not a 10/10 anime, but not too far from it.
Toradora!: A very enjoyable romcom all around.
On-hold:
Bleach: Who cares?! Just finish it!
Dropped:
Dragon Ball Z: Why not finish the Boo arc?
Plan to watch:
Deadman Wonderland: Will most certainly watch after Death Note, and finish before Halloween.
Mars of Destruction: Watch it for the lulz and tell me what you think.
Nana: I'll just come in with no expectations. Who knows, I might actually like it! If only my high PTW list weren't that high...
Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio: Ars Nova Just watched this on livestream and it was really not that interesting that my brain just outright dead. Also, the show is like the same as susei boring but great ost with excellent scenery. The cgi also ruined it for me with the plot lazy for me to understand it.
Coppelion Art looks weird. Glad that I removed it from mine list the last time.
kill la kill hyped show, but I really hope it is good since watching hyped shows ruined me every time.
Log Horizon looks like sao part 2.
completed
10/10 for Angel beats. Ehh way too high with some major problems from making it a good show. though, it has some funny moments ain't going to lie except the pink hair loli girl.
Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch R2 same am Angel beats. Don't really agreed by the score because the plot is boring. Have's it's cool moments though it is still good.
Danganronpa: Kibou no Gakuen to Zetsubou no Koukousei - The Animation They really ruined this adaption.
Gin no Saji Best comedy show of 2013. The characters and everything about it is perfect. Love this show that it makes me want to become a farmer right now.
Highschool of the Dead This isn't that bad really. Ignoring the fan service)skip episode 6) with great entertaining value than it's a decent show.
Kimi no Iru Machi I really glad I remove this show because I saw the comments in the this one club that it sucks.
Meganebu - If this is in your favorites then why haven't you already given it a high score?
Because he's not the type to give scores on any show until after he completes it. Yes, even the favourites.
Anyway:
Holy crap, Mewdoom. You just ninja'd me.
Watching:
Death Note - Gets too much unwarranted hate. hurr durr second part sucked, hurr durr too many coincidences. Just because something is exceedingly popular, doesn't mean that it's shit.
Completed:
Shingeki no Kyojin - Didn't really care about the anime, probably because I started reading the manga soon after the first episode aired.
Watching
Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu- I dropped this but since your re-watching and gave it an 8 you liked it. :/
Completed
Angel Beats!- Was sad and beautiful.
AnoHana- Saddest anime I've seen so far. ;-;
Ao no Exorcist- Pretty cool. Rin <3
Azumanga Daioh- What was meant to be "funny" was boring to me.
Bleach- My gateway anime, and also my favorite. :3
Death Note- My favorite Mystery anime. It was epic. c:
Elfen Lied- It was so sad and had such a deep meaning.
Lovely Complex: I loved it a lot. Although it was my favorite romance manga not anime.
Lucky Star- Boring as hell. -.-
Mirai Nikki- Damn this anime was amazing, and sad. :3
School Rumble- Pretty funny.
Shingeki no Kyojin- I have no words for this. It was just amazingg I can't explain how amazing it was.
Toradora!- My favorite romcom. It had such a beautiful love story. c:
On-Hold
Baka to Test- This anime was hilariousss. :3
PTW
Ao no Exorcist movie- Gosh this movie was soo sad. ;-;
Kimi ni Todoke- So beautiful.
Shugo Chara- .....
Watching
Free! - Nice art, but I found the story lacking. Swimming just isn't that fascinating.
Completed
Kokoro Connect: Michi Random rated higher than the prequel? I'm guessing you like drama.
Higashi no Eden - Yes! Someone who agrees with me that this was utterly underwhelming.
On-hold
Clannad - I also took a very long break after just a few episodes because Fuko is annoying. It does get better around episode 10 or so, and much better in After Story.
Dropped
Haruhi - I also took a very long break for this. This gets better around episode 4. Don't know if you've already watched that far since your list hides it.
PTW
I would recommend Steins;Gate based on your ratings and also because it's my favourite anime.
Since you gave Toradora! a 10, you might like Chuunibyou.
You don't seem to mind heartbreaking drama, so 5cm below you would probably like a lot.
Accel World - Good, you gave this a score above a 6.
Anohana - I wanted to watch this but most shoujo animes are just weird for me.
Durarara!! - You are quite literally the only person I have ever seen give this a higher score than Baccano!
Hellsing Ultimate - Another anime I plan on watching.
School Days - This should be a 1, nothing about the show was remotely good. It was original in a bad way.
Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru - This is my favorite show of 2013 so far due to the fact that I can sympathize with the MC, unique interaction between characters that makes it not feel like a rom-com, clever writing, and realistic supporting characters.
Plan to Watch
Danganronpa - Pretty funky and relatively light-hearted series minus the murders.
Gatchaman Crowds - This show is REALLY weird, but it distinguishes itself that way, and it ends up being one of the best of 2013 so far IMO. It has a horrible ending though.
Kimi no Iru Machi - Skip this and stay as far away from it as possible. Read the manga first, then watch it.
Log Horizon- I still wonder if this is more like SAO or .hack//.
Kill La Kill- Reminds me so much of Gurren Lagann. So epic. So awesome.
Kyoukai No Kanata- I hear good things about this. Don't know much about it though.
Completed:
Angel Beats- You gave it such a high score...I've not finished it yet, but so far it doesn't seem sad. All the backstories in so many episodes with so many characters
Baccano- Love the characters. Pretty fun. I prefer Durarara!! though. Still ought' to finish this.
Casshern Sins- So glad you appreciate this show. It was so sad, so beautiful.
C Control- I'm watching this as it airs on American television now. Pretty stylish show. Like it.
Free!- Only saw a little bit of this but it doesn't seem all that special.
Attack On Titan- Only a 5? Why?
Gurren Lagann- My fave show.
Dropped:
Elfen Lied- Really? I thought it was a really sad anime. Loved it.
Naruto- So far I think its all right. Nothing special.
Plan To Watch:
Guilty Crown- Looking forward to this.
Wow you have a lot you're watching... C: The Money of Soul and Possibility Control... I used to have that on my "Watching" list, but then I kept putting it off because the art kind of annoys me, so I moved it to "On Hold."
Completed:
I can tell you watch a lot of sci-fi.
Eureka Seven- I've been wanting to watch this for some time now.
I like how you have many Ghibli movies.
Summer Wars- 9! Yes!
R.O.D- Ha, that's another one that I gave up on because the beginning sort of annoyed me.
On Hold:
Wow... what can I say? You have so many good ones on hold...
Plan to Watch:
You've got to watch Haruhi Suzumiya and the Girl Who Lept Through Time, especially since you tend towards sic-fi!
