The fact of the matter is that the DJ was a representative of the university, since it was a university event. As such even if it wasn't the only choice delivering it can be seen as condoning it.

It wasn't just the party. The article states that this was banned from all of their venues. This is just another case of feminist moralism and censorship.

Being a feminist is too softcore for me. Misandry is the way of life I seek and thrive in.

I don't care enough to be one. I have the rights, and most shit I have to deal with because of my lack of a penis is absolutely manageable. So far it's all good.

No. Feminists these days tend to be coocoo for coca puffs, well the ones I've met anyhow. If they are fort equality, they are good. If they want the current roles reversed, then they are detrimental to equality and don't deserve to be called feminists.

Also, I tend to notice the smallest things, and hear the funniest stereotyoes, but feminists, especially the extreme ones, are pretty fucking ugly.

In the sense that Plato was yes, and I believe women are oppressed in many societies around the world, this is an awful thing and needs to be remedied (by those societies themselves, not through the dropping of bombs).

In the west though, the story is entirely different, I'd say women are free as ever here and that feminists like to take things a bit far. The whole doctrine of modern day feminism rests on this whole "bad guy" "poor victimized woman" mindset. The truth is gender roles place a lot of restrictions on MEN as well as WOMEN and as a man I can recount numerous instances where I've been discriminated against simply for being male.

For most feminists acknowledging this would destroy the whole evil patriarchy vs poor innocent dames dichotomy and so they tend not to. The ones that do acknowledge it often start putting forward a case that proves they're the bigger victims, it's not a contest I want to be part of.

I agree with the original feminist movement that women should get equal chances in life as men, and not just stay at home and raise the kids all day long (to name an example). Not sure if that truly counts as being feminist, though.

The problem with feminism is it's aim is to give women more rights than men

because of feminists, women cannot be tried for rape in the UK. And people still delude themselves into thinking it's about equality. lol.

the definition has changed

the word 'feminism' gives connotations of female superiority as well

they should have called it 'equalism' instead

Saying that feminism is about equality is meaningless. Its a huge movement with giant differences in beliefs. The problem with feminism is that it implies that we should be focusing on women's issues.

Both genders have societal problems facing them. Having a "Mens rights" movement and a "Womens rights" movement is silly. It just sets these movements up for being breeding grounds misogyny and misandry. Instead we should trying to achieve equality for both genders.

Feminist groups at this point having become "Womens interest groups" that don't really care about equality.

If you were to ask "Do you believe that both genders should be treated equally", I feel that the vast majority would say "Yes". And yet, by definition, that's what feminism is, correct? So ask yourself why people would say "No" to this question.

I think of myself as an egaltarian. I do not like how feminism focuses on women and by name focuses on women. I like how egalitarianism focuses on everyone. Please do not think of girls on MAL that aren't feminists as "Not as smart as they need to be". People have their reasons for picking what they do.

Not all feminists are like that, most of the ones who don't harbor the bullshit are older women though. It's the younger generation that's the problem, they don't know the old and true feminism.

That pretty much does make you a feminist. You don't need a vagina in order to be one, you know.

well no, feminism is however associated with pushing for more women-rights, which is something I do not actively take part in as I focus on other political initiatives. I guess "mostly due to being male" actually was wrong though.
