I was happily surprised to find various updater clients for MAL. Turns out they all use different ways to communicate with the server. Is one of those a documented and stable API?

Is there going to be one?

I'm curious because I'm currently developing an mplayer frontend and would love to have a documented API for interacting with MAL.

Well, if you check out the source code you will realize its extremely simple, the only hard part is to read out the current animelist, but e.g. to update the episode counter for an anime you only need to POST request "http://myanimelist.net/includes/ajax.inc.php?t=79" with parameters anime_id and ep_val. Of course you would need to have an authenticated session, but that isn't too much of a problem I assume. Ah well... I guess there isn't anything new about the stuff I am saying... just thought I might share it in case you care.

You could always use this site to make one http://grid.orch8.net/extractions/grab

Basically makes the task of parsing info from sites that don't have APIs easier.

I don't mind how to make it. Can you give an example? Thx...
