Nothing too fancy here, just a simple and easy piano piece. It's far from being perfect.
I was mainly inspired by some of my children's books.

The title of the thread is obviously an allusion to this thread.

Sounds great!!
Did you have french impressionists in mind as inspiration for this piece?
It does have a debussy-ravel feel to it!

French impressionists is my favourite period of classical music actually ! Ravel is my biggest role model in terms of writing and orchestration, love his work so much.
Debussy is someone I admire too, I think his sense of harmony is simply wonderful.
So yeah, you guess right ! ;)

Its pretty neat, reminded me of some slow jazz from the 40's, maybe even earlier music.
I've been here way too long...

Very nice indeed.. Would be cool to add some field recordings,
something like environment noises or voices as a background.

As always, thanks for your kind comment, TheConquerer.
I mainly compose intuitively, but the fact I regularly read and play jazz chord charts is a deep influence in my own music, so I'm glad it reminds you this style of music.
Classical music from the early 20th century (mainly french composers) is also a huge influence in my piano writing, the harmonic colors are usually pretty rich, like in jazz music.

Thanks very much, kuuderu !
It's a very interesting idea, really. It's also pretty funny because although I rarely heard this kind of mixture (contemplative track with background sounds), I quite recently came across some music like this (in Masashi Hamauzu's work, Katamari Damacy, and maybe Ryuichi Sakamoto's works too) and I have to say that I love those kind of stuff.

I didn't know this track, but man, this is gold ! It even makes me want to watch the anime even though I have no idea what Bartender is about.
The piece you linked actually reminds me a lot Ryuichi Sakamoto's work for piano and Masashi Hamauzu's style, and these two composers are two deep influences in my music as well.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and this music, I absolutely love it !
