I thought about making a separate thread for both Jazz and Blues but it's easier this way.

Anyone here heard of Ben Berlin before?

Charlie Parker introduced me to jazz. As a guitarist, I mostly listen to jazz guitarists.

I don't think I have one favorite jazz song. Currently my favorite jazz song are:
Chet Baker - I wish you love
Chet Atkins - Stardust
Glen Miller - Moonlight Serenade
Django Reindhardt - I'll see you in my dreams
Wes Montgomery - A Day in The life
John Schofield - Do it like eddie
Earnest Ranglin - Surfin
The Bad Plus - Everybody wants to rule the world

I don't listen to a lot of blues. My favorite blues artist is probably Lightnin' Hopkins.

Chet baker's vocals are amazing..

Kids on the slope really got me into jazz, specifically Chet Baker

even took it upon myself to learn a lot of his songs on the Piano, although jazz is pretty odd after just playing classical for such a long time. but it's really fun

I absolutely loved Yoko's version of lullaby of birdland in Kids on the slope. It's incredibly soothing compared to the original!

Moanin was the very first jazz song i went and learned on the piano, just had to after watching the anime.

I listen to jazz from time to time, especially Miles Davis and Charles Mingus, but actually i'm more of a jazz fusion person.

I've been listening to jazz recently because of Sakamichi No Apollon. I like some Chet Baker and Kaori Kobayashi's songs

For the most part, the only Jazz I've ever liked is 1920s Jazz Guitar, but I also really like Les Paul as well.

Loved that song so much.

Although if we are talking about Jazz as a whole I definitely would say my favorite is Latin Jazz. People like Arturo Sandoval.

I've been digging some later Miles Davis albums before the fusion stuff(which I still also enjoy as with most of albums I've heard by him) a lot lately. Some really amazing stuff and phenomenal musicians on this album.

^ Great song

Yes, Duke Ellington is definitely a worthy mention. I enjoyed Django Reindhardt's performance of "In a sentimental mood".

And one of my personal favorites

I'm interested in listening to a bit more bebop and swing. Any recommendations?

Musicianwise I'd recommend Charlie Parker, Sonny Stitt (who you seem to know about), Dizzy Gillespie, Kenny Clarke, Max Roach, and Thelonious Monk.
I could go on about more, but definitely start out with said musicians.

I will try recommending you some tasty bebop and swing ( although zero already mentioned it ) :D

and here is some swing, which I myself never listened much ( i don't really know much of jazz either though ), but i definitely plan to.

Regarding bebop, there is Miles Davis and Charlie Parker album, Dizzy and Parker in Paris, Dexter Gordon, Sony Rollins, Art Blakey, Cannoball Adderley, Chet Baker, Wes Montgomery and the ones requiem mentioned. There are more big names out there, but this should be enough to begin :D

That's some nice stuff, lets be lazy :D

I haven't listened enough to pick one decade since i roamed a lot through time and performers, so my repertoire is a chaos, just like jazz can be :D But it looks to me like I am unconsciously concentrating on 50s and 60s, so it seems I enjoy them the most... for now :D
