Machine Head - The Blackening

They have crossed many genres over the years but I believe they perfected their sound on this album.

Also regarding And Justice For All, definitely my favourite Metallica album!

Power Gloves EP is pretty good. It's the type of music you walk and work out too. They make you feel like you're in a action film.

I love AJFA. Lars's drumming was on point, James wrote some nice poetry and the riffs were so dark. Wait, the whole album was dark and I think it's the darkest Metallica has ever gone. I just wished they increased the bass.

If I'd had to rate their albums I'd say

Ride The Lightning>Master of Puppets>AJFA> Kill em All+Metallica> Beyond Magnetic> Death Magnetic> All the other stuff

Well I agree with the your rankings there at least.

I can't post just one, I have to post two as I feel they paved the way for their respective genre's.

The first definitely has to be Out of Step by Minor Threat. I personally think that it would be hard to disagree with this as the album that helped define the genre of punk rock, however an argument can certainly be made (i.e. Operation Ivy).

The second perhaps shines at the top of the Progressive Rock genre. This of course would be Moving Pictures by Rush.

From a certain hard rock band in Australia. Sadly, Malcolm Young has retired permanently due to health reasons.

punk rock is really broad, minor threat didn't really pave the way for punk, i guess you can argue it did for hardcore punk, but that's a different animal.

minor threat

you are hardcore!

see what i did there?

My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy doesn't really exemplify the rap genre. It's a classic album because it's a near flawless masterpiece of godlike creativity and unmatched ambition. While it is a rap album, the album is so much more than the genre of rap(not downplaying rap, rap is my favorite genre).

Endtroducing was good but... WHAT ABOUT THE AVALANCHES?

Also I'd like to add this album to the list.

This is my favorite band of all time. You might not like it but I think it is wonderful.
I have really funny thoughts that no one will get to hear.
