At first it was ''Lovers and Souls'' by Miyamoto Kano sensei, but recently I re-read ''Let Dai'' and it is definitely the most depressing and the saddest manga/manhwa/comic (along Sandman) I've ever read...I cried almost at every chapter (usually I do not cry THAT easily)...not to mention that I was depressed for a few days because of it.

I'm not sure if this counts since the manga isn't complete yet, but Tegami Bachi is by far the saddest to me. Almost every chapter is a tearjerker.

Or maybe I'm just a softie.

Well i nearly shed a tear with unbalanced x2 although, this most likely is because I'm quite an emotional person myself. It pains me to see the main characters have conflicts with each other.

Deep Love - Ayu no Monogatari
It made me feel so many emotions. I nearly cried throughout a good chunk of the manga. At the end, I was devastated! After that, I read the other Deep Love mangas and nearly everyone of them had me feeling so sad! Except for Host, not Host. The Ayu story I re-read several times, I just couldn't help feeling as bad as I did! And now I'm rambling....anyway sad manga. The saddest I've ever read!

Has to be Koizora. God.. the ending was so unexpected ;_;
And Boku no Hatsukoi wo Kimi ni Sasagu, that was pretty damn sad.
I have to say though, Deep Love wasn't that sad. Ayu's just stupid, really. Almost there, but yeah.. no >.>

I'm THE softie, so I don't want to read too much sad stuff ^^'

The saddest one by far I believe would be Watashi no Shiawase na Jikan.

Then I think Onani Master Kurosawa.

Honorable mentions, imo:
Bokurano
Shadow Star
Bitter Virgin
Modern Stories of the Bizarre

Banana Fish
I've read many sad manga, but can usually predict a death coming up so I get prepared. However, Banana Fish caught me completely by surprise and had me crying for hours because it was an absolutely fantastic manga, and then suddenly -- T^T

But sad/depressed?
Watashitachi no Shiawase Jinkan (I think that's how it was written) was probably the most depressing thing I've ever read.

I've read really sad ones. The first two that spring to mind are "Clannad" and "Video Girl Ai," with the former being the first manga I cried for D':

Hum, I never cried while rading or watching something sad, so therefore I might not have seen mangas that are really sad. I felt like the end of mirai nikki was a really sad one though. Fortunately they added an alternate ending as a ''bonus''

This manga was so sad!! :( Have you seen the drama for this? Although I prefer the manga, the drama was also touching. (didn't like the ending to the drama..)

I've read tons and tons of sad ones, but the most recent one was Normal City.
Man, that broke my heart so, so much. Spoiler: the mentally-unstable girl slowly died in arms of her soul mate? Oh yeah. :(

Oh yeah, forgot about Watashitachi No Shiawase No Jikan. That too.

There have been a few that have made me nearly cry however I think the one that might have made me feel empty and kind of felt like a punch to the stomach was Luck Stealer ... Atleast from where the scans have stopped, when you finally realize exactly what happened and the whole manga's plot is brought in to perspective ... when everything fell together I was just like "oof!"

This was somewhat sad too

In general though I avoid tragedy with a passion ... Oh I forgot Orange! It isn't necessarily sad right now but it does have the potential to make me cry my eyes out like a baby.

The saddest manga that not just made me cry, it really took my eyeballs out because of bawling so much, is HANA TO AKUMA, even if you just read chapters 1, 2 and the final chapter, you can't help but cry, hmm another one was FRUITS BASKET, not because someone will die but because it has a very touching ending, you will surely understand what i mean if you read it. ZETTAI KARESHI/ABSOLUTE BOYFRIEND is another one that made me cry...because of the ending. uhmmm what else... i guess its just that 3, hope you like it though!

Another really sad manga is Variante which had a bunch of sad parts because the girl was half monster and the ending was sad. also Jikan akima jinbutsu which is a compilation of three different oneshots that feature the same characters but they're roles are different as well as their stories...personally the first and second story were really sad and the last was very insightful...When i want something sad and short i like Mihara Mitsukazu's work.
