@mflatischler
Ubukata sensei explains how to organize a script taking his own works "Mardock Scramble", "Soukyuu no Fafner", "Chaos Legion" for examples. It's fun to know his way of thinking and some secrets of the Light Novel business but as a guidebook this is not practically useful.

I'm wondering how is the content of that book, is it more a guide how to actually write a novel or is it a storytelling about an author writing a novel ?
I dont quite get it from the summary

I got FAUST vol.7. The notable content is "Bianca, Over Study", the first Light Novel of Tsutsui Yasutaka, a 73 year old novel writer (you may know "Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo". It's his work in 1967.) It's all about um... sem*n throughout the three episode. I'm temped to categorize this as a Hentai novel, but I have to admit I enjoyed reading it. It takes a form of Light novel with cute illustrations by Ito Noizi but this avant-grade story is definitely a typical Tsutsui's world.

I posted a news about a secret Light novel writers' club.

@Bakabwoy
"MOE Erotic Love Comedy"... it's too much for me. lol
@_ETERNAL
I've heard about it. The drawing style seems to be affected by Akamatsu Ken.

I'm currently reading Megatokyo, and I'm enjoying every minute of it. I knew beforehand that the comedy would be amazing (which it is), but I'm actually finding myself enjoying the slice-of-life aspects of the plot as much as the comedy.

I'm reading "O-Parts Love" right now by yuukirin

@dtshyk Dame that would hurt if you drop it on your foot. I don't know much about Kara no Kyoukai off hand, but I do agree in spirit on this point.

dtshyk | Aug 21, 2008 12:15 AM
@CMB17
Sounds interesting. I hope the introduction of Kara no Kyoukai to US will make it possible to have the anime licensed in US. It's painful to see people are watching the illegal copy of $70 KnK DVD.

Here is the most recent Faust vol.7 released in C74.

It has 1240 pages and we call it a "blunt weapon".

CMB17 | Aug 20, 2008 11:33 PM
@dtshyk The first book has two bonus features in it. They are The Garden of Sinners: A Interview with Kinoku Nasu and Takashi Takeuchi and From Japan to the World, From the World to Japan by Yukari Shiina. The manga in it looks to be very interesting,but it may that me some time to read it.^_^

@CMB17
I heard that US version of Faust is completely different from Japanese one. It has interviews with Nishio Ishin, CLAMP, Obata Ken, Nasu Kinoko.

CMB17 | Aug 20, 2008 5:50 PM
Here in the USA Del-Rey has published Faust a collection of fiction and manga from the cutting edge of Japanese pop culture. It looks to be very interesting.

CMB17 | Aug 16, 2008 10:55 PM
@dtshyk This should be fun in the long run. ^_^

Five volumes of Guin Saga have already been translated in English.
Guin Saga vol.1 on Amazon.com
The problem is you have 100+ volumes to go.

CMB17 | Aug 16, 2008 6:01 PM
@dtshyk I will look foreword to these book in the near future.

I hope you like them. It'll be easy to read the novels written by Natsume Souseki and Akutagawa Ryuunosuke. Their stories are close to our taste.

It's announced that a long novel series "Guin Saga" will be animated in 2009 spring. The first volume of Guin Saga was published in 1979 and the 122nd volume was published today. The author once said the story would end by 100th volume, but it's obvious that there will be quite a few episodes left after the 122nd volume. The longest novel animated to date was "Legend of the Galactic Heroes": 20 volumes for the main story and 9 volumes for the side story. "Guin Saga" broke this record: 122 volumes for the main story and 21 volumes for the side story. The total sales are 30 million copies.
