The ending was a work of art and thats it....as a matter of fact of it did not end in such a fashion it would not have been as good. I mean think about.......Taiga gets everything from everybody without having to give anything up? No, she must prove to herself that she can survive and grow as person before she can have that life that everyone was so generous to "give" to her ~ she wanted to make sure that she could take care of Ryujji though to do that she needs to be able to take care of herself..thus she left and only returned when she had proven to herself as well as everyone else that she doesn't need them to take care of her anymore :P

Sorry if you don't agree, but keep in mind this is strictly my opinion, so please don't bite my head off O.o

I don't really know how realistic the ending is; if something similar happened to me when I was in high school, I would have drank myself silly. The fact that only two of the main and supporting characters ended up "being together," helped to make the ending acceptable. Do Japanese high school students really act this prudish though?

The ending, the way it is, is pretty much foreshadowed throughout the last several books or episodes (whichever your media). That being said, the ending does seem a bit off, but was still an excellent conclusion to the work. The part of a ‘legitimate’ ending is that of sarcasm, it refers to the fact that I liked the characters so much, finding them dynamic and unique, that I hoped that none ought to be left out (jokingly a harem). However, should that ending actually have happened, then the work would not be half of what it is, for it would be too unnatural and contrived. Therefore, the ending, as it stands, serves its purpose as the conclusion to a journey which was thoroughly enjoyable.

so, you "don't" think the ending is legit. ok then, your call. good job of making your sarcasm easy to notice though.

Lucid_Yume | 11-18-09, 1:30 PM
Ummm... I was sarcastic... my point was how well developed the characters were...

LEGIT?... ya know i hate to say this, but it's sad that the ending is somewhat realistic. stupid little high schoolers and their over dramatic lives. yare yare.

i concur :)

One of the few animes where a harem would be a legitimate ending based upon the characters. However, even the minor characters, Yuri, Sumire, Haruta, Noto, Yasuko, and others had development that really filled out the work. Taiga and Ryuuji are still the best characters though, one becomes so tied to them as real people, it’s brilliant.
