The main characters love puzzles and are challenged by different people in an episodic fashion. In both series, the protagonist receives an ancient artifact that in a way takes over their mind and solves the puzzle for them (not so much in Kami no Puzzle as the artifact awakens the boy's true power, whereas Yugi actually becomes possessed by the spirit). In both series, the characters risk their lives in solving puzzles. It also has a mention of Egypt and pyramids and how the puzzles began there, which is another factor present in both. I would also recommend YGO Duel Monsters (original Japanese of course)  read more

Both are about a genius MC who loves playing games and gets involved in a story where he can play even more games. Both stories involve playing various games for serious causes. Both are entertaining and colorful.

The both series share the same kind of intenseness and both the main characters are cool and level-headed (plus quite good-looking!) males who will constantly get into lethally dangerous situations from which they survive only by thinking.

Both protagonists put their lives on the line, solving death-laden puzzles that would easily kill ordinary people. Both series also feature traps...in more ways than one, if you know what I mean.

The most striking similarity between Nobunagun is the fact the characters use names of historical characters to identify their abilities. This however is not the only similarity these two series have. Both use a dark color scheme highlighted by bright colors and the plot line is dark. The characters in both series are eccentric in their own ways and the plots have a non-stop progression through the entire series and they both have a fast plot progression. There is also a bit of “willing suspense of disbelief” for both series as well.

- Both have Millennium Items in them. - Both have a "King of ____" (i.e. yami is the King of Games, while Kaito is the King of Puzzles.) - Both have a character who looks like Duke Devlin (i.e. Duke Devlin and Kaito) - Both are childish - Both are pretty cool.

Spoiler-Free reasons: -A badass highly perceptive MC -The "escape-room" feeling every episode -The well-written relation between Maths/Physics with cases -The inevitable danger that scales with episode count in both series -More highly competent main characters the further this gets Differences: -ID:Invaded is much much darker, for more mature audiences as it has violence / even gore at some points / real Psychological tag. Spoiler Warning similarities: -The more this goes on, the darker it gets -An "antagonist" that has to work with MC later on

They both have a vibe of another dimension Both have a group of friends on there journey Both have a dark element in the story There more sc-fi

Both of these Anime involve a dark storyline from the start. While Mirai Nikki doesn't have actual puzzles, the characters have to figure out a kind of mental logic puzzle when it comes to the other players in the death game. As for Phi Brain, while the death games aren't as drastic, the main characters have to solve the puzzles so that they or other people won't die.

In both you watch a 'genius' puzzle solver solve the puzzles for you.

Ayakashi is an older Anime then Phi Brain. Both Anime revolve around children and people with special gifts and the one that stands out. Not to mention the power to control the world.

Phi Brain is like Detective Conan, but without the whole teen-turns-into-child plot going on. Kaito is Shinichi. Nonoha is Ran. The side characters are pretty similar too. Like the other person said, there's a secret organization out to get the main character and his friends, so the main characters go out and solve puzzles or solve murder mysteries. A very similar feel even if the animes are a decade apart.

Both male protagonists try to get back a friend they lost as a child Both male protagonists have a special power

The characters are similar and the story draws one in with the mystery and action involved. There is a particular feeling that the main two characters give off that is similar.

Kindaichi is an older mystery series while Phi Brain is a newer series. Both series has their own group of characters that have their own charms to them.

Both protagonists are somewhat detective like and they enjoy reallife puzzles where failing could mean death. They both have weird/special eyes with a weird power. These animes are filled with danger which makes it more interesting to watch.

Both have the same plot where in involves games with high stakes and characters who seems to like playing it even it it cost them something, however Phi Brain was more diverse than Kakegurui when it comes to mystery and action.

(this recomandation is regarding all Yu-gi-oh series prior to yu-gi-oh Vrains) These 2 anime are drawn in a simular style, magic has much importance in both series although they like to hide their use of magic by using clever tech or history. *spoiler warning* In both series the main protagonist has something destined to them which gives them a conciderable adventage over other people in their respected universes.

Phi brain is about puzzles Nana Maru San Batsu is about quizzes You might like it, Nana Maru is where you have to be the knowledgeable in a lot of categories where you should know the line, but won't matter if you don't have the first finger on the buzzer. Also they are trying to make a club about quizzes what do you know, they make it. It was interesting and give it a check out, don't like it, it wasn't or isn't for you. Well have fun watching anime.

I couldn't help but notice that both of these series involve mysteries with partners. In this case, Gosick has our main heroine Victorique and her partner while Phi: Brain has Kaito and Nonoha. The setting is a bit different but the mystery theme involving solving problems remain similar.

Comradeship plays an important role with the characters and there is a group that wants to control what the main character does because he has a special power. The art styles are also beautifully crisp and the series has quite a few amazing characters with a lot of depth.

Phi Brain's plot progression mirrors that of the Law of Ueki, and the characters from both of these anime seem to hold many similarities. The concept isn't all that similar, but both have somewhat of an aura that makes them feel somehow related. If you like one of these anime, then I strongly recommend the other.

Both shows are about solving puzzles. In Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro, its about the puzzle a murderer creates. While in Phi Brain, Kaito risks his life to solve puzzels

There is a wide cast of characters and similar humor. The art styles are also similar and yet different in their own ways. Both are wonderful series which draws the viewer in.

Both Anime have similar styles and similar tones to the story line. They also share a dark sense of humor.

this is similar and different in a way. Phi brain plays the game like SAO, but are not really IN the game as SAO. the situation is kinda different here, and that is that phi brain can avoid it, but SAO, you are in it and could not avoid it even if you want to. both involves risking their own life to finished the game.

both are survival anime. both are strategic anime. both are do or die .

In both the main character is a kind of "genius" with great ability to handle difficult situations: resolving unsolvable puzzles (Phi Brain) or build real-time strategy (Code Geass). In both the main character deals with someone in closing a "contract" and gives him an "eye-power": C.C. gives to Lelouch the Geass in his left eye and when it's activated it turns red (Code Geass); Something like this happens to Kaito when he solves a puzzle and the prize was a kind of bracelet with the power of make Kaito's brain works to max of levels, and when it's activated his right eye turns red too.

Both Anime involve schools for gifted children. The main characters could be said to be the most gifted in the schools.
report Recommended by Yemi_Hikari
The style is in a modern Gothic where a lot of shadows are used in contrast to bright colors. The cast of characters are wide ranged and there is a mystery that they are forced to solve. A school setting is involved but the characters do go other places.
