Both series deal with a lot of random comedy and series of mis-adventures. They share the same kind of characters with the same level of stupidity.

Watch the first episode of each and you will see alot of slapstick comedy and numerous toilet humor. If you are really into that kind of thing this is 100% reccomendation by me.

Both are parodies of shounen battle anime featuring arcs and characters poking fun of stereotypical cliches seen in such anime series. Sexy Commando is mostly pure comedy and gags however, where One Punch Man actually does have somewhat serious action and a stronger focus on fights. Both are hilarious and entertaining. Also, both feature an inexplicably powerful and quirky protagonist that makes the rest of the characters seem laughably incompetent in comparison, even though you root for them anyway.

Short sketches of mostly completely obscene material. Both hilarious gag shows.

Both series exhibit a bizarre, nonsense brand of humor. Neither series makes the slightest bit of sense, but are utterly hilarious.

These comedies are very random, juvenile, absurd and crazy.

Nonsensical, random comedy shows centering around boys, their high school life, the cute girls they pine on, and most importantly : their improbable ways to become the strongest guys around. Both feature aliens, sexual innuendos, and seem to reference each other (the "wanchu" thing). You have to watch them to believe them.

they are both based on martial arts and are both hilarious! kenichi is basically a whole story about a highschool boy who likes martial arts and tries to enter the highschool karate club but get beaten to a pulp. he then meets this strange girl whose grandfather runs a dojo with all these insanely strong martial artists who are experts in different forms of martial arts.... and his training begins.... this show had me sitting on the edge of my seat during the fights and laughing my ass off during the rest of the show. if you liked one you actually might enjoy the other.  read more

First similarity is of course 90s anime feeling and style. Second is that in someway both talking about school, but not normal school like you probably know, but the best school you ever seen, ever. Another future that those anime have are worth remarking main characters, one of most funniest i had occasion to see in the anime world. Last but not least is type of humor that both anime are showing, ridiculous but still smart, and maybe little perverted.

One wants to have 100 friends while the other wants to have sex with 100 men - close enough. In the end both character's motivation will entail a quest for sexiness and getting over the limits of their body.

Both are two fun and bizarre martial arts animes with weird attacks and happenings.

Both comedy animes with over the top characters.

"What the hell did I just watch?-the Movie" is a perfect match for "What the hell did I just watch?-The Animated Series". They're both intentionally lo-fi and shitty, too. Kinda. Maybe.

While the music is nowhere near similar, both DMC and Sexy Commando have a fast paced and absurd sense of humor that makes you laugh so hard you have to pause and rewind the show to catch what you missed.

Abstract humour at it's best. Not your typical run-of-the-mill comedies.

Pure bizarre comedy :)

Both happen in a school, and have over-the-top humor about the characters. The episodes are relatively short. As a character Masaru-san is a lot more like an anti-hero, but always prevails - even when it seems very unlikely!

Both anime are about ancient and invincible martial arts technique.

I have only just started Honey and Clover and can't help but think of sexy Commando Gaiden The comedy is way to similar for this not to be a recommendation the only difference is SCG is all comedy where as HAC is somewhat serious but some of the characters are identical together anyway if you have watched one of these you should definitely try the other
