Sword fights against monsters, supernatural aspects, samurai in a historical context.

Both histories envelop a main hero who moves from his natal village to the big city and inadvertently becomes a part of a band of unconventional, bizarre and wild characters with great habilities. The nature of the teams are also similar.

Fictional stories relies on a number of themes. Among them is a chance encounter with certain forces of the supernatural. In both series, the main protagonist encounters them in the very beginning that threatens the very existence of their lives. Action wise, both series focuses on fantasy themes with its weapons and execution in terms of its fighting elements. The place that both series takes place are also influenced by its historical setting. Rikugou (Amatsuki) and Jinbei (Mushibugyou) also shares similar personalities in terms of being kinda to their peers as well as protecting what they treasure. Their encounter with a strange female character in the series  read more

In both of these series we have a special group assembled to fight off creatures that threaten the safety of a designated area. In Mushibugyou, the setting is 17th century Edo (Tokyo) and the creatures are oversize insect creatures, with the group being the Insect Magistrate. The members of this group are mostly fighters of some sort or another, using swords and sometimes onmyouji arts or bombs. In Kekkaishi, the setting is modern Japan (I forget which city/area in particular), and the creatures are ayakashi (demons, youkai, mononoke, etc.) who seek out a certain school campus that was built on sacred land, with the group  read more

martial arts comedy with light romance.

Both are fighting large bug/ monsters (but they are kind of bugs anyways) .Both include ecchi. They both have a girl who is short, have grey long hair, and is motionless. I don't know if they are the same, but then both mc are strong. In this case, in mushibugyo, the mc has a hidden self meanwhile CSR the mc is already strong.. but then their potential is kind of hidden.

These animes share the same concept of samurai's during the Edo period or also known as the feudal era. In Brave 10, Sanada Yukimura gather 10 warriors to aid in his fight for what's right, as for Mushibugyou, Jinbe and the Insect Magistrate fight against insects attacking the town. Brave 10 has a light and comedic plot that follows Saizo Kirigakure. It also involves the supernatural, bishounen guys, and the art is beautiful. For Mushibugyou, the plot is also light so far but with a more darker feel as it involves the supernatural.

In both series, there is plenty of action that takes place between the main characters and their adversaries. They also consists of supernatural arts being used along with traditional Japanese themes. The main male protagonist in both series also wishes to protect what they hold dear. There humor in both series; more so in Mushibugyou. On the other hand, the action scenarios from both series also has that shounen feelings.

The current arc in HxH is very similar to Mushibugyou. They are fighting bug like people. Both series has lots of action and great characters.

Both shows take place in what constitutes feudal Japan, where our team of protagonists has to fight seemingly random enemies at first -- demons in Inuyasha, giant insects in Mushibugyo -- they soon find themselves embroiled in the plottings of darker, more sinister forces. Both shows are largely comical by nature, but also subscribes to more shounen-ish flairs, like obtaining special powers to help them along their quest. There are a few points where the shows differ, though. While Inuyasha's... Inuyasha... is largely cynical, even openly hostile at first, Mushibugyo's Jinbei Tsukishima is extremely naive and almost supremely enthusiastic about everything. Both of them seem to  read more

I got a similar feeling watching both of these series. Although Nura takes place in a more modern setting, both series shares similar structures that are similar to those of the Edo-era. Both series also involves a group of characters in an organization/clan with their own ambitions and objectives. The antagonists of the series endangers the lives of others and it's up to them to stop them. There's action, drama, comedy, and supernatural themes involved.

Over-the-top samurai action series set in an alternate feudal Japan. Where Mushibugyou is high energy and bombastic, Katanagatari is stylised and character-driven.

In both of these series that take place in Japan's past, we have a special group assembled to fight off large creatures that threaten the safety of one of the more populated cities in Japan. The main character is the new addition to the group and happens to be of questionable skill and quality, but is taken into the group anyway.

Both animes are similar in the few first episodes: Someone wants to join a group of people that protects the city, but everyone on the group is more stronger than him, but he insists until someone very calm lets him joining. All the other things are different.

In both anime they are a group of unique and special individuals hired by their respective governments to eliminate monsters. Also the forming of each group is surrounded by special circumstances.
