The main characters cross-dress into this all-girl school for the apparently same reason (which I will not reveal since some might consider this a sppoiler -.-''). Even though the genre of these series don't really match, there were a lot of things that were particularly similar. For example, there's a ''Mariya'' in both series o.O Not only that, I feel that the story lacked something... in both series Otome might be a bit more... shoujo than maria+holic, but they are mainly the same: it follows the life of several girls and one boy.

Both stories are engulfing elite school life.

Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru is a little less dramatic and a little more humorous than Maria-sama ga Miteru, but they both have the older-sister/younger-sister catholic school relationship theme.

There is always hilarious events coming along with cross-dressing, especially when boys cross-dress! In both series there are these handsome boys, who are forced to cross-dress either because of the long traditions of the school, or because of their grandfather's will. In either way, there are deffinitely hilarious moment and unexpected situations - for one thing, how come Mizuho doesn't like being in an all-girls school when he's a boy? Despite all the similarities, while Kouno and Yuujiro from Princess Princess want to escape from being mistaken for girls, Mizuho from Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru absolutely doesn't want to be discovered, afraid of the  read more

They both involve a gender-bended main character winding up in yuri-ish complications. The difference is that Otome is more of the otome/nice lady type while Kampfer is more of an action type.

both with boys that have been either forced or persuaded into cross dressing. The major differences in this one he is put in an all girls school because of his grandpas will and is a student. Besides that theyre pretty similar

First: They're both under the genre shoujo-ai/yuri though the main in Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru is a male. Second: Both anime has the soeur-system, or the sister-system. Third: Both series is catholic, though you'll see some buddhism in Marimite. So if you liked the Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru-serie, you will propably like Marimite.

The main character must be dressed as a woman because there are a few "terms" in which MC must fulfill by any means and only accomplish with this conditions

both series featured an only male student at ann all-girls school. however, tetsuro still remains a male in his clothing without cross dressing (except for one episode wherein he was forced to cross dress when his uniform was soiled by paint) while mizuho cross dressed in order to be able to attend..

both animes are cross-dressers because of their grandfather's wish.

This is an alternative idea in which a boy is pretending to be a girl. It has a different story line and is not as good and popular as Ouran Host Club in terms of quality, but the plots give you a somewhat same amusement. Give it a try ^_~

Both are about a boy who has to learn the behavior of a girl cause he, in the one goes to a all-girls school (and runs around as a girl) and in the other completely became a girl. They both have also some humor in them, through Kashimashi is a bit more serious.

Both stories have an incredibly similar feeling and led by a main character with great courage and virtue. The most significant similarity is that both series contain individual characters that you will fall in love with for their unique and dynamic personalities.

The two series are similar as they are about boys attending all-girls schools in drag. Otome is a longer series though.

You may find Aoi-chan from YUA very similar to Mizuho-san from Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru ^^ Both gentle, pretty and very romantic but may be rough on they who brings evil ^_^
