No idea mate, Only thing that comes to mind is the old Bubblegum Crisis/Crash OVAs.
The lyrics were mostly in japanese but the songs themselves sounded like proper 80's music.

Aye, I'm very fond of it myself, more for it's laid back atmosphere than anything else though.
One of them shows you can count on to put you in a relaxed mood.

Didn't know you did podcasts, But yar I loved Sora no Woto too, first two eps were very pleasant and chilled, my kind of anime.
Baka to Test is kewl, the plot is... well, there isn't much of one. But I'm a slice of life kind of guy, so plot is irrelevant to me. It's rather funny and full of Hideyoshi fan service which more than makes up for anything it lacks.

lol, nail on the head. I really need to go through my currently watching list and finish stuff, some if it is from 5-6 seasons ago.
I really like the Bund manga as well, ordered the first 3 volumes at the end of november, so I was looking forward to the anime, but as you said, Shaft are doing their own spin on it. Not sure what I think of it after ep 1, but I'll keep watching it.
I just downloaded Frostii's releases for Durarara (I was unwilling to watch gg's trolling localizations), gunna watch them today.
Only other new one I've actually watched so far is Ookami Kakushi, really not sure whether I like it or not. The protagonist reminds me of the blind twat from H20, Spineless and pathetic. The preview for ep 3 looked rather messed up though, So I'll keep watching for now.
I also have Nodame (<3), Sora no Woto and Baka to Test in my downloads folder, gunna watch them today too.
(I wont lie, It's all the trap pics of Hideyoshi that enticed me into downloading Baka to Test :x)
Hadn't heard of Hanamarru Youchien yet and I'm all for cute, so I'll be grabbing that today while I'm at it.

gave it a 10 after 2 episodes. All the characters are lovable especially Morita & Yamada :3
It'll probably go into my top 5 once I finish it.
so yar, It's absolutely brilliant.
Gunna be buying the tsukuyomi box set in a few weeks too btw, figured I'll do that rather than watch the fansubs.

I've got volumes 1 to 7 sitting on my shelf, just hoping that we actually get vol 8 published in english atm...
I saw some very hot spoiler pages of Yuki and his freind on the football team... you gotta love Yuki, Throw Minamo in there too and I die happy. :3
Probably my all time favorite manga, It's made me grin from ear to ear with every volume so far. 'tis a sexy manga.
