Jumbosan

Hey Jumbosan here,

Currently I'm searching for hidden gem in Shoujo and Josei anime/manga. Also other hidden gem that maybe more than 8.00+.

Shoujo and Josei is one of my favourite genre due to how the romance was being depicted and able to express touching emotional story in various type of settings. Simple to say i love beautiful (sad, happy, bittersweet, angsty) story. The more it feelings it can convey, the better.

I like other genre too (Shounen, Seinen) since it the first reason i got into anime. What about you?

Other than that
I'm also an active otome gamer.

My favourite otome game are Bustafellow, Taishox Alice and also Black wolves saga. The list continues on....

Just say hi if you come over :)

I played Amnesia out of sheer curiosity. It was a decent experience, but not something I'd try again.

> but vn is deep reading, even the most long term reader will be suffer, glad you able to finish 2 of it.
Ahaha. Correct. VNs, or e-books as I call them, are off-the table. I don't like to do heavy reading after I come home exhausted from work at 5 pm. I'd rather do something enjoyable, like read manga or watch aa series.

> .you're gonna miss a lot of great treasure of manga in long serialization and manhwa as well
I'm always gong to miss gems, but that doesn't mean I force myself to read 100 garbage books just to find that 1 gem. I'm quite comfortable with the genres and length of chapters I have defined for myself.

is more shock based - its content is rarely good. I read a few of his works but I wasn't impressed. ito mangaI've added Mystery to iu nakare to my list. Thank you!

I'm sure modern shoujo is evolving as much as modern BL, putting behind problematic and annoying tropes. But the very few that I've read and watched have been unbearable because the FL is a useless piece of doormat. And their football size eyes, while everybody else's are normal sized, is a pet peeve of mine. If any anime or manga has that art design for its FL, I instantly drop it.

I'm not fond of drama, nor of long manga/anime series, so I'm probably never gonna pick up Nana. I'm willing to read a 10 chapter Josei/shoujo manga recommendation, if you have any.

Oh, I'm aware of the DMM VN. I only played maybe 2 VNs, out of which one was Amnesia. It was okay, but most of the male characters in such VNs fit into small personality boxes that you can basically predict how they will react during certain situations. And if it's predictable, I don't have any incentive to keep going further with it.

I checked out all your recs. I dropped Kanojo ni naru hi halfway a few years ago, and the rest of the manga's descriptions did not appeal to me :(
Not your fault, though. Shoujo and shounen are 2 of my least favourite genres, mostly because of how poorly females are represented in these genres. Obviously, ecchi, hentai and isekai are guilty of the same as well. For that reason, I always recommend Josei and Seinen to people - they're more mature genres.

Job hunting in which field? I have a desk job regarding house property

That's okay. I have yet to read 100s of BL. I only ask people for their recommendations to see if I'll also like what they like. I'm actually open to short manga from most genres, so long as I find them entertaining. My manga list includes maybe 300 manga that aren't BL, you know.

Apart from that, what do you do? Are you a student?

-Sonal- May 19, 7:22 AM
Well, I just told someone else that waiting for a reply is not an issue - it's when you don't inform me that you're gonna disappear and then you make me wait for a response, wondering what happened, that it becomes an issue for me. Cuz I waited for nothing :(

My one and only fav genre is BL and if you have any short manga recs (10 chapters or less) feel free to recommend them to me

Good for you that you have a high tolerance for filler content. Mine is next to zero, which means that unless the plot is moving quickly, I will lose interest in it. It's a big reason why I avoid genres like Slice of Life, where nothing ever happens lol

-Sonal- Apr 13, 8:33 PM
Don't you think longer stories = more filler content?
I've also found that unless the author is really good, many characters keep doing things back and forth, as if they have had no development in the past few chapters, or they behave totally out of character just for the plot to move along. For example, a sweet guy cheating on his partner just because the mangaka wanted to add more drama/new characters to the story, even though the guy himself would have never done it if the mangaka had stuck to his actual archetype

-Sonal- Apr 12, 12:51 AM
My attention span is shit, so I avoid long manga like the plague. I stick to 10 chapters or less ;p

-Sonal- Apr 11, 11:45 PM
Really? All you have to do is search for your required tag on your manga reading website, and it'll show you all the manga there. Those that are finished usually tell you that the published chapter is the last chapter.
Can't say about early 2000s, tho. Do you read short/one-chapter stories? If so, I may have a few recommendations
-Sonal- Apr 11, 6:22 AM
Do you only enjoy early 2000s manga?
