I finished watching the anime some time ago, and I’d like to pick up the manga. Did the anime skip important things (= you have to read from the beginning if you want the full experience) or is it possible to pick the manga up where the anime left off? And if it’s the later, on which chapter did the anime end?

I think anime adapt from the LN, but if want to read the manga it is around chapter 40 or 41 where anime left.

Yes it is based on Light Novel, but most of the scenes are exactly similar. Frame to Frame. Only a few parts are different where the director adds more oompf to the scene.
Like the send-off dance by Maomao or the extremely well done scene of Lakan meeting his lost love.

Chapter 40, highly recommend the manga because I started reading it and I can’t put it down!
