I never gave Hunter x Hunter more than a passing glance previously. The large episode count, uninteresting story description, and silly looking character designs put me off from watching the show. However, after finally taking the plunge into this series after being given a recommendation, I’m so glad that I watched it. I would have missed out on a true gem of an anime otherwise.

It’s time to duel, this time with the protagonists from the first three Yu-Gi-Oh! anime series. But how does this 10th anniversary movie for the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise stack up? As a note, prior to watching this movie I have only seen the first series.

In short, the four Milky Holmes girls solve a mystery in London with the help of their mentor, Kobayashi Opera. Sounds like a recipe for a good bit of fun, right?

Well, not really. The episode is, in a word, dull. The girls’ new competence is a double-edged sword: ...

If there’s one thing you must know about this show, it is that it’s certainly not a typical run of the mill anime. Set in a post-apocalyptic time, Humanity Has Declined tells the story of an unnamed pink-haired girl who serves as a mediator between humans and fairies, which are the new humanity of the world. Why the humans are exactly in decline is never explicitly stated, but the viewers are occasionally reminded of the fact. The story is part sci-fi and part comedy on the lines of dark humor, a combination which somehow works together well.

The story, which progresses primarily in two episode ...
