Since I'm not going to reveal my name, you can call me Mizu. My first encounter with the anime happened when I was around 4 and watched Sailor Moon. It was my favourite cartoon that I could never forget about, though at that time I didn't even know what anime was. Then I got pulled into Pokemon craze, and finally fell in love with Rei from Beyblade :P When I was 16 one day I decided to find and watch again Sailor Moon. It was the first time I watched anime in Japanese with English subtitles (time to learn English seriously!). On the same webpage I found other series and blindly chose another one. It was Fushigi Yuugi. Then I watched The Vision of Escaflowne. The anime obsession began. Now I watch anime, read manga, obsess over my favourite seiyuu, can understand a bit of Japanese and dream about my favourite characters :) I watch various series though I prefer those with deeper meaning. Characters who can't deal with their past or can't find their place in the world - that's my thing. I like anime which contain magic, feature samurai or bishounen. I don't mind action anime. That would be more or less all. If you want to discuss any anime on my list, don't hesitate to leave a comment or send me a message :) Random anime-related stuff about me: -> I love shonen-ai and yaoi. What might seem weird for some people, I do not support the seme/uke division though. Love is about equality, not dominance! -> I am a feminist and I hate ecchi. How are those two things related? You can see bare boobs and panty shots in general anime,but won't see a naked guy there. How fair is it? -> Yes, I hate Elfen Lied. Got a problem with that? -> No harem anime and no moe characters for me, please... -> I love fantasy themes. -> If a character has Tomokazu Seki's or Takehito Koyasu's voice, I will probably love him. That's how I ended up worshipping the main villain from Gintama and a few other anime... -> I like it when the main character is anti-hero. I'm an evil person. The peaceful, loving-all and ever-so-forgiving characters annoy me... -> Chichiri from Fushigi Yuugi and Ran Fujimiya from Weiss Kreuz are mine. FIN. -> A character (be it a female or male) wearing pink will NOT gain my respect. -> I DESPISE English dubbing. Both English and Japanese are foreign languages for me, however the latter sounds much better in my personal opinion. Maybe it's because Japanese is closer to my mother tongue in terms of pronunciation. What's more, the unique atmosphere of the anime is gone if I hear English. -> Many people laugh at so called Engrish. Therefore I would like to inform the native English speakers: you sound equally silly trying to pronounce Japanese words :P Club Member Cards: Asian Drama & Movies |

My favorite genre is comedy. Followed by romance and drama as a close second. I love anime or manga that makes me unable to stop. I really like marathoning long running anime too. I also get annoyed with airing shows. I would rather they all be done by the time I watch them. I like the suspense of having to wait for One Piece every week though. I also really like anime that get inside your head so you have that "WHAT IS GOING ON" feeling. It's the best. Thats why I really like dramas like Steins;Gate, Mawaru Penguindrum and Revoutionary Girl Utena. Steins;Gate and Mawaru Penguindrum are the best anime of this year in my opinion.

Recommendation Club Newsletter~Holiday Edition
As we enter into one of the busiest times of the year, we here at the Recommendation Club would like to extend our wishes for each and every one of you to have a wonderful holiday season!
Since the September newsletter, our club has gained many new members, and seen the return of old ones. We would like to keep the momentum going, and with our member list now at 3,111, that should be no problem at all! ^_^.
We would like all of our members, old and new, to help keep this an active, and fun club, a place to Chat and to seek out recommendations in our General anime and General Manga thread as well as the specific anime genre threads, such as Drama and Romance and Sci-fi and many others as well.
It’s a great place to make new friends, or renew past friendships, and we urge all of our members to drop by, and post in the various threads and comment section, as well as share you expertise with other members.
