The art of both are done by the same person which leads to very similar looking characters (Kimblee and Daryoon look almost identical). There is a large focus on military strength, though Arslan Senki is more realistic and does not have things like alchemy at all.

Arslan Senki and Magi has an adventurous feeling. Diving a journey into both series will land you with fantasy elements and military conflicts. There area also political issues dealing with the characters and their ideologies. There is decent action present and dynamics explored about their world settings. Magi has more comedy while Arslan Senki retains more violence. Yet, both series focuses on their premise well and presents it accurately to its audience.

Arslan Senki and Kingdom shares a concept revolving with warfare. The main male protagonist gets involved in a struggle to liberate and prove himself to his people. There is an extensive military atmosphere throughout both series that involves all the main characters. The concept of war is also adapted well with various degrees of realism.

Shokoku no Altair and Arslan Senki adapts war themes but also expands beyond that with affairs involving other conflicts not directly related to military. Both series crafts a story with thought provoking ideas with a cast of colorful characters.

Both manga has a really good action component, with amazing drawings, enjoyable fights, intriguing settings. But in both cases the focus is not on the fights or on the single protagonist, but rather on the world, on the psicologica evolution of the characters and on how they want to act to shape their future. They are definitely an example of way in between a seinen and a shonen, with good art and deep characters

Both series have a similar starting point. The main character is the young heir to the throne (or similar) and is presented as a weak warrior with no talent at first. The initial conflict is very similar as well: the destruction/occupation of their homelands. Both characters encounter a group of people who become their comrades. Finally, Arslan and Tokiyuki are similar in their age as well.

Both MC's start off as gullible royality, then grow up. There is a dispute of who truely should be king. MC and his/her spear-wielding fighting genius escape. Maybe some romance in both? one more than the other. Wars are fought, people are betrayed, strong characers fight each other, great MC's. Who has the claim to the Kingdom?

The main male protagonists from both series are considered warriors but also with a tactical mind. Rivalries and vengeance also become part of both series' concepts as we learn more about their story. If you're interested in a series these elements, then consider giving both a try.
