| I actually enjoyed this a lot more than the actual series, it had some mystery and horror to it. Sadly a lot of oppai fanservice but also some flat chest service! 8/10 |

| They have tried to put a plot belonging to the fanservice, not a bad thing indeed but remained incomplete, the ending was pretty confusing, it would be better if this special was done in two parts. |

| So apparently, it's a haunted Onsen (Gintama totally didn't do that already) that's haunted, but in truth it was just a dream, but in truth truth it IS haunted... WHAT THE FUCK?! And of course, my favorite character Reki is just standing around in the background doing shit. At least we got some neat fanservice and a decent scare, but other than that... It's just crap, like the anime itself. |

| Wow I watched this at midnight which creeped me really out! At first I thought it was a typical special fanservice episode. But then... th..the creepy kid POPPED OUT and scared the hell out of me with this creepy music :S I feel like being trolled XD Couldn't sleep so well last night! T.T |

| Ok first of all this OCA scared the shit outta me, those ghosts are creepy as hell i can barely watch the whole episode, and geez what's with the cliffhanger ending? but all of that has been covered with the bath scene in this ova, well at least there was a fan service scene in it so it's forgivable. 7/10 from me |

| Hm, just finished the OVA as well, right after I finished the anime, which I really enjoyed, I must admit. But what's up with that cliffhanger ending? I really liked the OVA and aside these Ecchi filled parts, the horror moments were really good. But what exactly was the thing that the boy was trying to achieve with his actions? I really don't get what he did to all his victims in the first place, too. Did he got some super special powers as well? xD But what's more important now. Why did they make such a short OVA and not 40 Min. as someone already suggested? Would have been a lot easier to finish the OVA with an satisfying ending, if it went that way, I guess. But all in all, it was watchable and okay, I think ;) Sad, that there won't be a second season of HnA, because I really enjoyed it. And Btooom! needs a second season, as well D: But I'm glad that I watched both anime, cause I pretty much enjoyed them both^^ |
| Can any of you Hidan fans make sense of that episode? What happened at the haunted inn? I was actually enjoying the show all the way till the OVA because it deviated too far from the genre. Hidan no Aria has supernatural elements, yes. BUT because it is mainly action, it isn't supposed to use the plot device common in Japanese horror. That is to say, they are not supposed to create an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty via the supernatural (i.e. ghosts). Things are usually left unresolved in Japanese horror drama. Unresolved and unexplained, like the shorts in the Kaidan (or whatever the spelling is) series. Ghosts appear to haunt the living, who are too weak to put up a fight, and thus the unknown triumph from beginning to end. In an action/supernatural drama however, like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the playing field is leveled. The living can actually fight back against the unknown and there are no supernatural problems that can't be resolved through good old-fashioned righteous violence. The OVA episode, however, was just weird. They went into a mist and experienced the inn's haunting only to end up at the entrance to the village again. They went full circle much like the helpless characters in a horror film would. Nothing was resolved in the end. Thus, this episode is totally out of context in my opinion. Is this plot arc even included in the light novels? |

| 1. wasn't expecting much since it's ova. nice fanservice i guess 2. there might be a 2nd season based off that ending. but i doubt it'll happen. 3. well, this anime kept my boredom at bay for a short time. it's sad to leave a series but u just gotta keep moving with time. 5/10 |

| I'm not even sure what to say about this. Pretty random service special that had a few funny and freaky moments. I was sitting there thinking "Man they're gonna have some awesome or hilarious twist at the last 5 seconds" and next thing I know the video is over. It's kinda sad how that ping pong match was cooler than the fight with Vlad. 5.5/10, although I'm tempted to score it higher than the series because I could have done with 12 episodes of this. |

| Your typical Hot springs episode with a horror twist. I like the horror part (its probably not meant to scare you at all but add suspense and mystery) As for the ending, its was best for them to leave it there. It's fine where it is. |

| I probably should have gotten around to watching this sooner given that I finished the rest of the series over three and a half years ago. Is this maybe a reference to something in Japanese mythology or popular culture that foreigners wouldn't pick up on? |
| This episode didn't really add to the story at all it was just another episode, which sort of let me down. It was fanservice from the beginning and that seemed like the main plot point, boring. Also the whole grudge thing added at the end was weird... Anyways did not enjoy this OVA too much. |

| i didnt remember that this story was an aria ova. quite weird to just end the ep there makes it kinda seem like they were supposed to do more also why is this marked as a sequel to hna but got some nice fanservice of aria :3 which also made me think: is there any small chested anime girl who doesnt get jealous about others having big boobs? its always the same reaction. edit: reading others posts here ive never seen as much confusion :DD |
