Both shows contain two male partners who have to use their unique psychic powers to control others in some way. Pet is more crime-focused and the story is more closely based around the main cast while Shiguang Dailiren is a bit more wholesome and less-focused on the main characters imo. Both shows have these genres: supernatural, psychological, mystery, drama

same studio i only recommend it's OP, which is similar with kokkoku but with tons of recycled animation here and there.

So both of these anime are gonna be aimed towards the female audience more than men. It is very focused on relationships between men that transcend romance and fall under a partnership/soulmates title and are about our main characters trying to escape an evil organization. Both shows are very serious and a bit trippy but overall, the story will come together in the end and make sense. They both have action, mystery and drama involved.

-Similar psychological aspects and power play between key characters. -Manipulation plays a key role in both anime. -Supernatural powers are similar too. Death note has the notebook and Pet has some short of hypnotism power. -Nice art and animation style in both anime.

-Focus on story of people with supernatural/abnormal powers. In Pet it's entering minds/memories of others, in Sankaku ghosts, curses and such -main duo with a certain dynamic (balancing near that BL line) -characters interesting from a psychological angle

Paprika and Pet are similar with respect to several aspects. 1) Visually - Both feature plenty of surreal, dream-like imagery to visualize the mind of a person. Both blur the line between reality and imagination / dream / memory visually, using seamless cuts from real to imaginary within the same scene. 2) Story - both deal with manipulation of the human mind by others. In Paprika, technology is used to manipulate dreams, in Pet supernatural abilities are used to manipulate memories. 3) Staff - Pet in story and style is very reminiscient of all the works of Satoshi Kon, and most so to the Paprika movie. Both shows use a bizarre asthetic to islustrate many complex themes and deliver some sort of message with it in a really unique way that you won't find anywhere else

- Both series were entangled in psychological theme. - Both story implicated characters with coincident of special powers features. - Both series has piles of characters in undefined state, neither good or villain side. Most characters of both series were in grey color-- where the protagonists were set and living at the same boat of antagonists. - At a glance, both story were made without the primary of main character. The more you watch, the more confused you to be. - Storytelling were unique and were made into severe point of views.

Both anime require you to make sense of what is going on. The story isn't simply shown as straight forward. So for now I get the similar vibe from Pet. So anyways, if you found Lain amusing to watch you might try Pet as well.

Both have psychological horror elements with the plot focusing on people controlling the minds of others. Most of the time it is not good people doing the controlling, so it can be intense and difficult to watch. Pet delves deeper into psychological aspects and is harder to understand while Dorei-ku is more of a crude dramatic thriller with characters being forced to obey others.

Have you ever wondered what people's souls look like? Both series show the hidden safe places of people's hearts and the dangers of corrupting said safe spaces. If you like action, dreamlike places and a bit of mystery, you won't regret watching either of these series.

Same effect of playing with your mind. What is reality, what is in your head? Similar styled editing, timing, juxtaposition of imagery, not the same but one clearly inspired by the other.
