Ryogho Narita once again transports us to the bustling, supernatural, and yet oddly relatable streets of Ikebukuro in Durarara!!SH

Although, presumably one would know to finish Durarara!! itself before reading SH, I'll add it in here just in case.

Story - 7/10:
SH is a great sequel if you're craving more supernatural hijinxs, but fails to introduce a complex, multilayer plot that we've seen in the original Durarara!! It also can't seem to introduce new plot elements (with the exception of one protagonist's "abilities", so while it's changed up a little, we still see the same Blue Squares, same Dragon Zombie, same Awakusu-kai.

Character - 8/10:
As usual, I instantly enjoyed reading about all of SH's new cast. Although at first two of our new Raira-trio protagonists may seem like Izaya and Shizuo rips, they eventually grow into their own individual characters. Our third new protagonist, Himeka Tatsugami, is outspoken and cold, very unlike our quiet, timid Anri, which is a nice change. Aaaannndddd...that was all that was good about it. Yes, we get several members of our old cast back, but while we all want more Shizuo, Shinra, Akane, Aoba, and Celty, the lack of new characters (and in fact, the lack of characters, SH only has maybe 7 or 8ish characters play a role in the plot thus far) is a far cry from the 30 or 40 character cast of the original work.

Art - 7/10:
This is a LN (so not really focused on the art), but it was decent, average for Durarara!!

Enjoyment - 8/10:
I personally love Durarara!!, so SH is a fun read. Although the lack of new elements bothered me slightly, I love the old characters as well, so my enjoyment wasn't really affected. Plus, we're only a few volumes in so my hopes are still high!

Overall (or TL;DR) - 7/10:
If you loved or even just enjoyed Durarara!!, SH will certainly give you a good time. It's still full of Durarara!!'s classic charm with a somewhat-fresh cast of characters. There isn't as much new material as I would've liked, but it's still enjoyable to read.

Durarara SH is a prequel to Durarara and added hands to a already finnished drawn picture of snake evolving it to dragon. I have to admit tho that I've only watched the main series and haven't read the novel. Only read it after you have watched/read Durarara and found yourself craving for more.

Story 9/10:
The Story is just as good as the already awesome main story. It got everything you want from Durarara, from Myserty to Actions, from Gangs to Interactions, from fun trio to conclusion sections and most importantly Celty. If you love Durarara, you will love this too. It's written from someone who already mastered his craft. Durarara SH (or Durarara SHorts as I like to call it) gives you new mystery, new Celtystuff, new insides of the whereabouts of our known characters (more or less), new characters/new trio, new Urbanslegends and a fun read.

Art 8/10:
The Art, even tho there isn't much of it, is very good. I would love to see the same art in manga form. I just wish there would be more of them and showed different scenses than choosen in the light novel. The covers are nice btw.

Character 8/10:
The Characters already had a good amount of development in only 2 volumes, with room for more. Can't wait to see in which direction they will go. The main trio is really enjoyable and fun to read about. The development of the already known characters are consitent and intresting. Who knows what this will lead to.

Enjoyment 9/10:
The Enjoyment always gets me when I hold a volume in my hands. What will happen next? When will this charcters appear? I just wanna know more and more of what Ikebukuro got to offer. I find myself in the same state as Mikado who just wants to be part of the unusual or Izaya who loves humanity.

Overall 8/10
