There will be a little Bias in this review, because after watching about 2-3 episodes of this show, i fell in love with it. This story is one of the biggest underdog stories in the anime world, i'd say even more so than Hajime no Ippo and EyeShield 21. In those 2 shows, the respective characters had strengths in their respective fields right from the beginning (Ippo=Great Power for Boxing, Sena=Great Speed for Football). But our MC here doesn't have any of that from the get go. He has to learn about his strengths and weaknesses and tries his absolute best to try to change. He doesn't want to live in a world where he is a weak individual. He wants to grow, and that's what defines him as our MC. They made cycling the most exciting thing for me, which by itself deserves a high score. I consider one moment in episode 18 to be the greatest moment in all of anime for me and you can see my list to see what else i've watched. There is only 1 race in this show and as many times as i watch, i get chills over my body. I recommend this to EVERYONE. It's slow for the first few episodes but i loved even those because it showed us more and more about our main characters. Their interactions with each other, their thoughts were all very interesting to watch. The only thing that might annoy some people would be the flashbacks during the race. That bothered me a little at the beginning but then it helped to understand how much each character grew from just one race so i was okay with it. I consider this to be my favorite anime, for the reasons listed above.
