After taking little over a month to complete the whole series I have finally completed it and at this point I'm really speechless.
Although, I'm not the type of person to analyze anything I read or watch too carefully and this is my first review on anything really. I apologize to those who think I'm being too lenient (you could say I'm somewhat easy to please).
The original Clannad was quite enjoyable and light-hearted, but After Story was really full of emotion for me. Every episode was rich with story, each one of them felt like a short film.
Before After Story I have never cried after watching or reading anything (sometime on the verge of, but quite flowing with tears), except for the movie Hachi: A Dog's Tail. Episode 19 proved to be the only other thing that made me cry after watching it.
Story:
10. I gave this a ten because, as previously mentioned, I felt that every episode in this series was well written. Although, being based of a best-selling visual novel, (that I plan to read) that should have been expected.
Sound & Art:
7. I don't usually pay attention to art as much, as long as whatever is enjoyable. Sound pretty much the same as the art, unless it really adds to the anime/game/whatever I'm enjoying. I don't know what kind of things I need to look for when rating sound or art, but I don't like to mark too hard and a modest 7 should suffice.
Character:
10. Being a "short film" every episode, I felt that the character development and characters were solid. Not much else to say except that I wouldn't mind knowing any one of the characters in real life(except for Sunohara, *kekekekekeke*).
I can’t really say anything about my enjoyment or overall score without repeating myself. It was an emotional ride for me and something that has somewhat changed the way I think, but this isn’t a place to write about anything personal.
I can't say I have anything negative to say about this series, so I have nothing else to say.
