Skip beat is about a girl named Kyoko who has spent her whole life adoring and dedicating herself to a shallow bastard named Sho Fuwa and helping him pursue his dreams of becoming an idol.

One day Kyoko overhears Sho saying he think of her as nothing but his “maid” and that she is a “plain and boring girl.” So what does she do? Cry? Get depressed? Crawl into a sad little ball and give up on life itself?

HELL NO! Kyoko swears revenge on Sho and does this by getting into the showbiz industry herself!

I FREAKING LOVE Kyoko's PERSONALITY! I may even have a girl crush on her, she's just that awesome! It's so refreshing to finally see a strong female main character. She's bold, full of spunk, hilarious and at times even a bit scary.

I really admire her for how she didn't let Sho steal her self-esteem and instead used her noble excuse for revenge to join his rivaling agency LME to get into the acting industry (and by god is she talented!) You just can’t help and cheer on this underdog as she faces the challenges to become an actor with the help of fellow actor Ren.

However like many anime, Skip Beat felt unfinished. There is a dying need of a second series! Lots of thing felt unresolved and I wanted to see more relationship development.

Overall, I recommend this series as it is very enjoyable to watch with a great heroine but I was a little disappointed by the end which left me hanging.
