There's a reason why this Ova has a higher rating than the original series. Detective Conan is great but it lacks the flair that only KAITOU KID can do. DC is based on murders and crimes but this OVA is more on the background of our favorite thief. We get to know the makings of KAITOU.
Story 9/10
It's beautiful, it's intriguing and it leaves you laughing or awing. The story of a Thief who hunts down the truth. It's simple but his life is complicated. Just like a roller coaster (watch it and you'll be drawn in)
Art 9/10
It was a great change from DC original animation. A lot flashier and smoother. I say that it fits the show well. The only thing that bugs me was that how much they resemble Shinchi and Ran but they are quite different. Just recognize that Kaito and Aoko have spiky hair while the DC leads have straight hair.
Sound 9/10
The soundtracks were great and matched each moment well. Nothing more to say here.
Character 10/10
This is the gem of the show. The characters like DC were well made and covered almost everything. For an OVA, it brings out their personality well. Kaito with his Kookiness and magic while Aoko is always supporting her father and etc. I got attached to the cast quickly and you can't hate them at all. Every character has a part in the story.
