Mirai Nikki is a school life anime, using different elements of genres to make this anime unique, the characters are incredible, the story is very unique the supernatural side of it is in the name, Future diaries is a brilliant idea for an anime I find the whole idea of having a diary that tells the future incredible.
The action is mind blowing, the whole idea of using tactics with the future diary and how it can be used as either a strength or a weakness, that is one of the main things I love about this anime.

The main plot is that there are 12 individuals that are chosen by the God of the world Dues to be diary owners, the idea is that the last one standing is chosen to take over Deus’ role as God.
The two main characters are the first and second diary owners, Yuki and Yuno, Yuki is a shy defenceless teenager that doesn’t seem to want to talk to many people, he calls himself an observer as from the start of the anime you can see him constantly writing a diary on his phone on his surroundings. Instead of having real friends he has created himself what he believes is an imagination which is realm of Deus and Murmur.
Yuno is the second diary owner, she is a beautiful young women who has created an obsession with Yuki as her future diary is completely revolved around Yuki. She is very protective of Yuki as her love for him has been very certain ever since Yuki made a joking promise to her that he will marry her one day, this creates the fixation that Yuno has for Yuki creating a romance between the two giving the anime an incredible romance aspect inside the anime.

There is a strong psychological aspect inside the anime, some bits of it are admittedly very creepy. Yuno is definitely my entirely favourite character in the entire anime, she has so much to bring into the anime, there is two sides to her and that is what I love. There is a soft sweet loving and very protective side to Yuno and there is also a psycho stalker side to her that will do anything to make sure the safety of Yuki.

There is two main types of horror inside this anime, they both mix incredibly in different moment, for example there is moments of rape but also moments of intense suspense within fights of diary owners.

The action is absolutely phenomenal, the explosion and weapon effects are incredible and the blood effects are quite shocking. Yuno is the main aspect of gore in the anime, she shows multiple moments of slaughtering and there is many moments where we see Yuno covered in blood and the psycho stages that Yuno goes through when she sees Yuki come to harm.
Also I love how the future diaries are used in the core combat between diary owners, the first time you see this is in the first episode as Yuki and Yuno use their diaries to locate the position of the third diary owner which was closely followed by a dart to the thirds diary completely destroying it. This resulted in a strange death for the third as it seemed his entire body was scrunched up and eventually sucking into an oblivion.

The thing I love most about this anime is how much I fell in love with the characters, Yuno is one of my personal favourite anime characters of all time, she is just perfection and Katsuhiko deserves incredible credit for creating this amazing character.

*THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION CAN BE CLASSED AS A SPOILER*

The ending of the anime was a true tear jerker, just to know how much Yuno’s love for Yuki truly meant to her, the end fights were incredible as you could seriously see how the ninth diary owner changed from a blood thirsty killer to attempting to help in the fight against Murmur, the powers of Yuno were incredible, you discover what her true colours are and instead of spoiling it for people who haven’t seen it, I will just say the ending will definitely surprise anyone who watches this anime.
