There were two things I did not like about the movie:
1) it seems to be drawn for an international audience mainly and somehow this disappoints me. I am an anime fan living in constant fear of Japanese anime studios being bought by the American market and Hollywood. I hope this is not a sign of things to come. Big budget, "cool", but smells fishy to me.
2) It was too fast-paced, like a movie based on a successful manga or anime series. But in the case of those movies they are backed up by the manga/anime plot and we watch those movies just to see our favourite characters in action. This one only has plenty of action and gore, no character development or explanations.
