Welcome to the N.H.K..... A melancholic, slice of life which main aim is to solve and conqour a feel of lonelyness at times we have all experienced.

Satou Tatsuhiro a 22 year old Hikikomori (Shut-In) and his daily struggle with this “Disease” He gets offered help from an unlikely source, A young girl, Nakahara Misaki who wants Satou to take part in her “Project” to cure his Hikikomori.

The tone of the show gives this ever lasting essence of Depression tinged into every character who have their own demons to battle, even the ones you think that are immune from it.
NHK Shows the “Other” side of life, Not everyone is in a happy-go-lucky Slice of Life, The series show the darker and true gritty side of life others tend to ignore or bypass.

NHK has a strange undercurrent, which suits the show immensely, The creatures that talk to Satou are his inner thoughts/demons, Everyone has these, Some are just more visible than others.
YOU As the viewer get the feel the feeling behind the story, Most parts were very insightful or thought provoking, It even has its fair shares of light hearted and “funny” parts, But these parts you felt the true feeling behind them, You didn't laugh out load, you kept it hidden because you knew it was nothing more than a mask or a facade to cover up the utter sadness that is in their hearts.

Art/Sound is as fitting as you would hope for, A melodic/upbeat OP and a Frantic and Heavy ED, Both I enjoyed in their own rights, The Voices fit perfectly to all characters and suit their personality portrayed in the show.

Welcome to the N.H.K is a Journey we should of get on board with, I enjoyed the Melancholic view of the show and could really relate to Satou, To me this is very close to a “ Masterpiece” However a few parts let it down for me, The whole way they wrapped up the series I for one was a tad let down by not what was shown, but parts or feelings that were left out or neglected.
Apart from that, This series in sensational, one that is not just worth your time, NHK is a show that can change your outlook on what a psychological/slice of life series should be the marker for.
