Mixed Feelings
--WARNING-- (This does contain a few spoilers, because it was hard not to put any in.)

I told myself I would never write a review for this anime simply because almost everything that I would type out would be negative. Now here I am.

I feel like I more or less should warn people who were as naive as me. I started this anime with high hopes and perhaps to see something that I had never before seen. While the concept was amazing, I don't feel they took it in the right direction.

I'm not going to sit here and give you a run down of the whole anime because you really can look anywhere to find the story. But the bottom line is it was just an utter disappointment.

I came upon this anime by accident, but the idea of a survival game using cell phones and this fascinating girl known as "Yuno" captivated me. The first episode went by in what felt like less than ten minutes and I thought I was going to fall absolutely in love. The episodes when on and I found myself becoming more and more interested, but at about ten that all came crashing down.

I started to dislike it bit by bit. It began with Amano "Yuki" Yukiteru believing he was falling in love with Yuno. I myself couldn't feel pity for her, not with her stalker mentality and psychotic tendancies. He himself said she was crazy in the beginning and that he wouldn't get involved, but somehow or another he was able to completely throw that aside to give himself to her. How..how do you look past something like that?

Many people apparently do pity Yuki for ending up in the game at all, but I can't. I just can't. He made his bed and he ended up having to lie down in it.

In the end he turned into this complete brat who was willing to twist the entire world just to be with this insane girl and have his parents back. He even shot his friends who only wanted to help him and make him see what was really going on.

I will admit I loved characters such as Akise and Minene, but they only got so much screen time. It's honestly sad when you find yourself hating the two main characters in the end and wanting/begging for them to die.

I didn't get my wish. The final episodes were what made me score this anime the way I am. I found Yuki to be irritating, Yuno to be too obsessive, and parts of this whole thing to be pointless.

I wish it had gone in a better direction, because this "love story" just wasn't worth it.
