The animation ALWAYS takes the cheapest way possible (though the design i probably the best thing in the series), the stroy is a mess, the characters are bland and annoying, there is no action whatsoever (though, it makes patetic attempts), the dialouge (which is the core of the series) really sucks and as whole the series never impressed me in any way. Legend of DUO is probably the suckiest show I have ever been unfortunate to complete and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Not even shounen ai-fangirls would like this for the vague "love" between Duo and Zeig, trust me.
If this would have been a part of a visual novel from the mid 90s and maybe then it would have been acceptable but as a standalone series in 05, what the hell where they thinkig? Sure they used some pretty nice effects but they didn't help at all, it was more like "so yeah I really don'f feel like drawing this character again so lets just add an effect instead to create the illusion that he moves". Im not kidding.
Don't do the mistake and spend an hour of your life of this, just don't. It's not even bad in the way that it is funny (like another horrible show *cough* Root Search). I will pray to god that the makers of this never make a sequel which the "to be continued"-text in the last episode makes us belive.
