About the STORY
The key plot is different from the usual that makes the edge of the series from others. There are also nice explorations on different basketball techniques. It is educational and something that you only get on sports series. It is all nice that the storyline has quite fast pacing but it’s hurting the story of the series. There is not much story or drama on it because of the extremely fast pacing of the storyline.

About the CHARACTERS
The thing about sports series is there will always be quite the number of characters. There are lots of interesting characters to choose from. Of course, it is given that in sports series there would be arrogant opponents that give more thrill in the story. But, if the fast pacing of the storyline is hurting the story itself, the characters’ development is even more affected. There is almost no time for characters to be explored.

About KUROKO TETSUYA
One of the original in the series is the protagonist’s character which indeed quite rare for a sports series. It’s really ironic that it is given that protagonists should stand out from the rest of the characters but what if the protagonist’s role in the first place is not to stand out. It’s a first and can be challenging as well but the writer still manage to justify the protagonist role even if it’s primary feature is not to have a presence. The funniest thing is that even with the titular name, Kuroko is almost not exactly the protagonist himself. The center of the plot in the series is more on Kagami. The series features more of the amazing abilities of Kagami. Hence, their tandem is made. Opposite attract; one is expressionless and the other is so expressive, one is cool/calm and the other is hot-headed, one is small and then other is huge. It also just so happens that they are blue and red which is known to be always paired with each other. The light and shadow thing is really perfect to describe these two.

About the ANIMATION
The basketball games are made thrilling and as different as possible. It’s animated nicely with the incorporation of latest graphics. It’s almost believable which basketball fans would still appreciate. The character designs are also well made.

About the ENJOYMENT
It’s quite ironic that the first thing that I like about the series is the fast pacing of the storyline and it just so happens to be what is lacking with Slamdunk which is my only concern with it. However, if Slamdunk was extremely slow with lots of flashbacks, this time it’s extremely fast. You would be surprise that within one episode there’s actually two consecutive important games. There is countless uniqueness in the series which really makes it a refreshing anime experience. With the huge amount of animes of today, even a slight originality in a series always gets my attention immediately. I also like that the series is trying to convey the true meaning of teamwork. It is definitely important in almost all sports particularly in basketball.
