Shakugan no Shana is very special to me because it is my introduction to the world of anime in the internet. Before, my only access to animes was just by watching our television dubbed by our language. But when I was watching Shana, I thought I might research it by internet and then I found out how much better it is to watch them with their original version. And so my anime experience started there.

Despite by being special to me, the story is absolutely great. There’s so much originality with the plot and so the storyline is very well-made. Almost everything is new to me, from stories about torches to flame hazes to the world of the crimson realm to hougu to denizens and many more. The terminology is so rich with its originality and you really have to research its meanings. I also genuinely love how the characters are named. It is fun and interesting. Setting aside that, it is really interesting how the story unfolds and before you know it you are already involve with the series.

For a 24 episodes type of series, there are so many characters in here. All of them are very interesting, most especially the non-human characters. That includes flame hazes, kings of guze, rinne, and even the villains from bal masque. They are so mysterious with their background stories on what really they are and how they become what they are. Even though you know that it is somewhat a love story, you still wouldn’t notice it at first because of how the relationship of Yuji and Shana started. It is so misleading yet so original. Even with a titular name, Shana is still not the lead protagonist because it is still Yuji but she is my personal favorite. I like her naivety to the world that usually leads to misunderstandings between her and the other characters especially Yuji. It is also amazing how she can be so strong and powerful with her very small appearance. I so love it whenever she shouts, “Urusai – Shut Up!”. It is so cute!

The animation is definitely one of the best of today’s anime world. It is really exciting and fun how every scene looks with one of the bests visual effects. Plus, the music is really amazing which is very rare because not all famous anime of today have a very nice soundtracks or music. The great music gives a finishing touch to make the series so amazing.

With a great story, interesting characters, amazing animation, and nice soundtracks, it is no wonder why this anime is one of the famous animes of today. I am so looking forward to give my review for the sequel.
