This was arguably the best anime I've ever seen. The art was spectacular. If anyone knows of an anime with more beautiful backgrounds than this one I'd love to see it. The animation was top notch, just basically everything from a technical stand point was simply astounding.
You can tell from the very beginning that the visuals of this anime were special which got me excited about what the writers would do with a story in such a beautiful setting.
The story is... I can't even find an appropriate word for it. Moving, touching, real... The characters felt alive and I was really able to connect with the them. This movie really sucked me into the story and I was eager to see more with every passing second.
I can't recommend this series enough.

Some may find the ending a bit frustrating, but in the last episode you REALLY need to pay attention to the timing of it all. He smiles at the end for a reason. They both moved on (hence his apartment going from messy to neat. It's kinda hard to see, but if you compare the dates on his white board in the clean apartment with the text message he got in the messy apartment, you see that the messy was before the clean. It symbolizes that he's in a better place in life), and he smiled because in the end they really did watch the cherry blossoms together again. So if you think about it, it was actually a pretty happy ending. He got over a bad relationship ending, also he realized that he was chasing something he'd never get (which is also a reason why he quit his job) so he cleaned up his act and decided to be happy. Them being together was really sorta unnecessary at the end.
