As you all know I am a huge fan of horror anime so here is my other review on a horror anime no surprises there this time it's Higurashu no Naku kora ni one of my Favorited horror anime of mine so the plot is that After moving into the quiet town of Hinamizawa, Maebara Keiichi spends his days blissfully in school often playing games with his local friends. However, appearances can be deceiving. One fateful day, Keiichi stumbles upon news of a murder that had occurred in Hinamizawa. From this point on, horrific events unfold in front of Keiichi, as he soon learns his close friends may not be all that they seem.
Story 10/10
The story line of this anime seems to be a different on how it's set out because it set on 6 different arcs on what could have really happens on the cursed night what I really like about this anime is that every arc you get closer to the truth of the cursed night it's like a jigsaw for the viewers to work what's happing and how it happens. Well there was one tiny flaw in the story is that after an mini arc finishes and everyone dies suddenly everyone is alive again *gasp* that got me really confused when the first mini arc finished I was thinking was everyone supposed to die but after the second mini arc you kind of get use to it.
Sound 8/10
well the Opening theme higurashi no naku koro ni by Eiko Shimamiya gave an out of the world tone to it with the dark beautiful voices that gave a scary opening. The ending theme Why or why not by Hiroyuki Oshima feat. Rekka Katakiri sort of gives you shivers up your spine with the soft piano and flutes and matches each and every ending of each episode. To be honest I didn't notice any background music what's a really good because that means that the music really suited each and every moment of each scene very
Art 8/10
the art had the characters look very childish in a way with sweet and innocent faces to the viewers to not suspect them for doing any wrong but they were very basic drawings of them that was a little bit of a let down, the background settings were very well done with the shading the light colours during the day and dark scary colours during the night or a murder scene that suited every moment of the anime.
Characters 9/10
I would have to say there are quite a few characters but the number of characters are very perfect for this anime and the character development had no flaws that I could pick out all of the flashbacks are meaning full all of there personalty's weren't typical and with all of the characters they all stood out in a special way that made you not forget some characters and you understand way they are mad at times that's really quite rare to see in a horror anime like this.
Overall 9/10
If you are a fan of horror or not and don't mind a bit of gore I strongly recommend the anime for all of it's aspects I wouldn't watch if you get scared easily but give it a try. well.
