I just finished this show. Why did it have to end? In all honesty I came into this show not knowing what to expect. The recommendation came from a random individual, but he told me it was good, actually he said it was INCREDIBLE, and I thought to give it a try. The first episode somewhat bored me, he said it was action packed...I saw no action. I'm an impatient individual, I don't drop shows often, but when I do I do it VERY quickly. A part of me wanted to quick, especially because I wasn't used to the 90s animation. At first, I hated it, those rigid lines, no fluidity, no delicacy, it wasn't soft at all like the wondrous animation of 2012. However, I kept going hoping that it would get better. And boy...did it ever get better. The Yu Yu Hakusho show isn't for the faint hearted, it isn't for someone that wants a straight cut storyline filled with happy smiles and laughter. Although it has comedy, and at times I cried from laughter...I also cried from anguish and loss. The show rips out your soul and allows you to evaluate yourself in ways you never thought imaginable. There is a character for everyone, that anyone can relate to...personally I related to Hiei and he has become one of my all time favorite characters(right behind Edward Elric). It was his darkness and quench for everlasting depression that hit home with me, but well...you have to see what happens. There isn't much else I can say about this show without spilling my heart and revealing spoilers. You fall in love with the art...and as I finish the show I'm not sure how I'll handle the fluid motion of modern animation. The show was simply impeccable, each episode drew me in, and by far the second season was some of the BEST television I've ever witnessed. I'm lucky to find this show, in the back of my head I've faced dark thoughts, but this show(along with Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood) has made me realize that those dark thoughts are okay just don't let them control your life. Instead, watch and rejoice that you live the wonderful life you have. If that statement hasn't convinced you to watch the show...well, to be honest, I don't know what will. I'm not revealing much about it because I want everyone to witness the beauty of this show untainted by my review. I want you to watch it, and believe that it can change you for the better, because it will. I hope who ever reads this review finds the sudden urge to watch the Yu Yu Hakusho show, everyone should watch this at least once. Go change your life, be the man(or in my case woman) you always wanted to be. Learn, and train, and fight to be the better YOU! I wish you all the best as you embark on the journey of the Spirit Detective. My case is closed. :)
