Lucky Star is one an anime where you ether love it or hate it. I've met very few people who have cone to think of it as just "okay" or "good." If you can get past the fact that there is absolutely no story, then you might want to read on. If not, this is not your type of anime.

PROS

The art in this anime is completely, absolutely, and 100% cute. Everything is colored very brightly, similar to Ouran High School Host Club, but much cuter (yes, I said it). It just has the feel of the ultimate teddy bear that you want to hug and keep holding on to. The characters themselves, look as bright as ever, especially Konata with her blue hair. It's drawn as cute as you can get (pretty much).

I consider Lucky Star to be the king of comedic anime. Every joke works and is spot on. Konata is involved with most of these jokes, but of course other characters add-on their own sense of humor a lot as well. It's hard to find an anime that has comedy even close to the high level of humor that is within Lucky Star.

The characters in Lucky Star are, as you would imagined, extremely cute. Of course, the majority of fans love Konata more than anyone else, but others have a lot to add as well. Konata is a young girl who loves anime, computer-gaming, and video games. She's basically the girl version of many guys who love her as much as they do. Kagami is kind of your average school girl who tries her best at stuff and is, for the most part, the victim of Konata's jokes. Tsukasa is the sister of Kagami and is the shy girl of the series. She plays her part the way any anime character can. Lastly, there is Miyuki - the smart girl. Judging by these descriptions, you would think that there is no character development throughout the series. Well, you are correct, but there doesn't need to be. This is a slice of life anime that is about everyday things in life. Character development is not needed for such.

CONS

Many people seem to have a strong hatred for Lucky Star because they say it has no story. Others who love Lucky Star have said that it does. Facts are facts, though. And the fact is this - Lucky Star has no story. I don't care what you hear from other people or how much you are convinced that this anime does have a story. It doesn't. Now, this doesn't take away much if you are into slice-of-life anime. If you have a problem with such, then this anime will be your worst nightmare.

At the end of every Lucky Star episode is a segment called "Lucky Channel." This segment involves two characters getting into weird and awkward fights. Honestly, the segment didn't bother me at first, but as I saw more and more episodes, it got quite annoying. Maybe it is just me, but I can't stand those parts.

OVERALL

Lucky Star is one of the greatest anime series to ever hit television. It's hilarious in almost every single way and has some of the most likeable characters you will ever meet. The only downside is that there is no story, which may bother some viewers interested in such.
