Preliminary (9/25 eps)
SAO's plot can be summarized as the journey of the main character towards finishing a game in which the players are trapped into. The story may sound simple (and the animation is not the best out there), but the way it's presented is what keeps me tuned in every week.

Being a previous gamer, I personally like and enjoy how various MMORPG scenarios were presented and are put into someone's perspective. And along with those, I get to see characters grow and develop into better players and people. The only thing that's worrying me right now is the tendency of the story to stray away fr the MMORPG storyline and eventually become the typical love story/any anime story that is set in a virtual world. There were episodes that I felt were too focused on building relationships rather than walking through the game itself. But then again, it gives me a feeling of excitement, whenever the story goes back to gaming coming from a relationship side plot.

At this point, the anime has a huge potential to become awesome because there are still several areas of gaming that could be showcased. And as I said, the story isn't that bad so if the writers will be able to make the perfect mix of both, we could have the anime of the year right here.
