Preliminary (7/25 eps)
Before I gave this show a chance, I used to think that it was not the show for me. Firstly - I was not all that into basketball; second - the genre tags did not interest me one bit. If you were like me and grew up watching shows like "Shakugan no Shana", or "Angel Beats", you would probably share my opinion. Right now, I am up to episode 6. It is 2AM and I have my first day back of school tomorrow, but I simply can't stop watching. Here is why:

Many Animes tend to make the main character overpowered, and exaggerate their brute strength (or miraculously give them the power to 'believe', as to magically give them a boost of strength so they can overcome their struggles) so they can gain admiration from the show's viewers. This is not the case in "Kuroko no Basket". The main character - Kuroko - in contrast, is extremely weak compared to the other characters in the series (arguably the weakest). However, that does not make him useless. Instead of making the main character a complete powerhouse, Kuroko is more of an accessory - a utility - which in this case really makes this Anime shine. This simple detail makes us realise what the concept of 'teamwork' really means in Basketball (and other sports, as well).

Being only 1/4 my way through the series, I do not have too much to write - i might add more later on. However, I believe that you should give Kuroko no Basket a shot (no pun intended), even if you think it's not for you. I, myself, got hooked on the first episode.
